Hi, not sure why they deleted your messager dude! Great job on the survey, i shall be completing shortly.
Hey Guys, thanks for the comments. We had already spent a huge amount of time on this theme and decided that it was time to move on.
If any one is interested the theme can be purchased on mojo themes
Anybody else fancy passing a little judgement?
Many thanks to Ivor for the support email response. Its much appreciated. Its a shame that we don’t receive a response like that by default.
tultul i don’t think you have to scrap it and start again, remember design is subjective. It just need to be looked at from a different angle, think about WordPress as a system and into its bare bones;
Header – Menu, search, logo
Content – posts, work, icons, text
Footer – links, custom text
So the idea is to make what you do different to what others are doing; split down every element in your design to be an individual element. Polish each element/section making it pixel perfect;
2 Image Slider
3 Large text
4 Icons and text
5 latest posts/work
6 footer – Flickr, links, custom text etc
Now look at the most recent themes what do they have in common. Make yours stand out from the competition.
Hi i dont think you should worry too much about adding new features, background images, etc, i would concentrate on the design.
The slider is fine, I like the font for your logo but the colour you have chosen does not inspire me in any shape of form
One thing I have noticed from both of my recent submissions and rejections is that if you don’t wow them with your first page then they do not visit any other pages on your website.
Firstly I have to say the template you’re working on is looking good, I like the grid gallery in the middle. There are a few bits that ive noticed however im no expert! .
The issues are simple to fix; random padding, text alignment, line height etc that need to be addressed before you submit. I would also spend a little more time on the header it doesn’t quite work.
I hope the above comments help you with your design, do rememebr they are just my thoughts and I look forward to seeing your improved design.
Here are a coupe of good website with info about typography;http://ilovetypography.com/
Im with webdesignerart.
I think you have quite abit of work to do here. The spacing is all over the place and your drop shadows dont work, they are too dark and a also too far from the item.
Your text alignment, size and text colour all need attention.
Maybe work on the background image; stop it from repeating, remove some of the texture. Have a look at how to use text alignment properly, learn when and where to use justification.
Also have a good read through this post about visual hierarchy; http://webdesign.tutsplus.com/articles/design-theory/understanding-visual-hierarchy-in-web-design/
Ive spent a little time playing around in Photoshop adjusting items in the visual however it does seem like im stabbing in the dark and could potentially be destroying good solid elements from the design.

You comments would me much appreciated
@bfintal thank you ever so much for your comments, you are right the opacity is supposed to be set a little lower that its current level. Im also going to look into the content of my demo along with the sizes of displayed blog posts etc. I actually added the > symbol as the list symbol ot be in keeping with the bespoke carousel.
