I’ve just come to check the sites after Christmas and a nice pop-up screen told me, that I’m in an Elite Club now. What a nice surprise :)

I would like to thank all of my customers for buying my items, authors for support and Envato team for creating this platform. I couldn’t achieve it without You – so Thank You.

Hopefully we will sort out the VAT and income taxes in 2015 together and all of the authors will continue to do the great job they do.

Jan

Well, I’m confused, can You please answer my questions?

Lets say I’ve sold only 1 logo template in 1 month. Im on 69%.

1.Logo has been sold for 29$

2. Price tab shows 23,20$

3. Amount tab shows 20,01$ (that is the amount I’ll get on my paypal account)

Question 1: I need to declare my income so tell me, which of these prices is my income? Question 2: I need to invoice that income and on that invoice, there must be two contacts, first is me as the one who receives the money and the second who do i sell that licence(s), who is it?

Thank You

Just an information, I’ve asked on CM in forums:

“Because of the upcomonig VAT rules for 2015, there has been opened many threads on marketplaces like this, with the main question, who is the direct seller and what is the exact possition of the marketplace.

I don’t want to ask about the VAT, but about invoicing, let me write an example:

I’ll sell products for total revenue of 100$ on CM, but my earnings are only 70$. So how do I write invoice when I request payout?

a) I’ll write an invoice where CM is paying me commision from sales on CM 70$ – and that is my only invoice. b) I’ll write an invoice where CM is paying me the total revenue 100$ and 2nd invoice where I’m paying 30$ to CM as their fees.”

Official answer:

Under the new VAT regulations, CM will be treated as a reseller. At this time, we are implementing systems to collect and remit VAT assessed on the sale of digital goods to buyers located in the EU member states. As such, in your example, you would write an invoice for $70.

I personally don’t care because the legal structure of my business is “small business owner”. That means in my country: If my income is lower than xxx I pay no VAT. And I’m far away from that limit… I’m just a very small fish compared to all the elite authors here. It’s more like earning some extra money during free time.

You don’t need to care about VAT, but You should care about the Income Tax. There is a difference if You are a direct seller or not.

For example on item selling for 10$ here on Envato sites, as a direct seller You need to Invoice the whole sum (10$) as your income and then make a second invoice with 3$ expense (if You are on 70% commision rate), but if we are not direct sellers, we need to invoice only the income that comes to our accounts, which is 7$ in this case.

Removing the flag of the European Union is discrimination. This is not just a technical issue, it is a human rights issue. I hope that the flag be returned as soon as possible!

I don’t think so. EU isn’t a Country, so why don’t You use your Country Flag instead of EU?
