Yes, my apologies. E-mails somehow managed to go through spam folder while they are clearly aren’t. Sorry for causing extra work for the support team.

I got over my file’s removal, however would like to kindly ask support to review my earnings freeze, as genuine mistake (non-intentional copyright violation) has been made by me, and my first message in this topic with detailed explanation should clearly show that. Many thanks.

Hi guys,

Due to the nature of the inquiry and for privacy reasons such cases are best answered/handled via our Support channels. If you’d be so kind as to open up a ticket via http://support.envato.com and ask about the issues through it, you’re sure to get a reply from the appropriate Staff.

Thank you for your understanding!

Following your advice I’ve opened a ticket, and haven’t heard back anything yet. I appreciate hard effort of support team, but just wondering how long does it usually takes to handle ticket as it’s been 6 days so far with no response whatsoever.

The funny thing is, I didn’t get an automatic confirmation e-mail with my ticket number quoted as it usually happens and didn’t note down my ticket number. I’ve opened another ticket (regarding relevant, but another issue to another department) and did not hear so far either, nor got a confirmation email as well. I did, however, note down my second ticket number this time. Just saying.

Thanks Motion Revolver.

So my questions to the staff as follow:

- Why exactly my project has been removed? According to the guideline above, I used the footage legally. What are the chances, if any, to bring back my original project?

- If it’s impossible to bring the project back as is, am I able to re-submit it with different custom/self made footage used in it ? (I see no reasons why not, just to make sure)

Thanks.

Hi all. Not a big fan of whining around the forums but there’s a situation, I’m not quite sure what’s happening with.

I’ve recently made a VH template and used another author’s footage ($6) with an extended purchase and made few superficial changes to it, meaning original footage wasn’t used as-is.

Footage seemed to be what I needed for the project, hence decided to stay within Envato marketplaces by making involved parts under the roof happy.

I was referring to following from Extended License rules when I decided to use it:

Go for it! Things you can do with the Item (with an extended license)

6.You can modify or manipulate the Item. You can combine the Item with other works and make a derivative work from it. The resulting works are subject to the terms of this license. You can do these things as long as the End Product you then create is one that’s permitted under clause 3.

Clause 3.An End Product is one of the following things, both requiring an application of skill and effort.

(a)For an Item that is a template, the End Product is a customised implementation of the Item.

(My apologies if I got above written wrong. I respect anyone’s hard effort and never meant to act illegally)

The end result is (was) a decent and unique project priced ($20) with more than 50 copies sold within 3 weeks. Not bad eh ? I thought so too, and even sent to footage’s author courtesy email thanking him for his effort over the footage. (Oh My!)

What he did ? Sent a take DMCA notice to Envato support and created a topic where he’s questioning the fact that I’m a VH author, which I don’t think is up to him to decide.

Anyway, even if the extended license does not allow me to use someone’s work in the way I did, It is obvious that If I knew what I did was somewhat illegal, I wouldn’t even bother to contact him. (Which I know genuinely regret)

Without making topic any longer I’d like to sum up what we have now:

Few days later, yesterday, my template has mysteriously disappeared from the marketplace, without any email/explanation being sent to my side by Envato support (Rules say I’ll be sent a notification if my item is subject to DMCA take down) This is totally frustrating.

I will definitely make my best to revive my project by using neutral/self made footage in it, and it’s just a matter of few days, and then hopefully no one will be claiming his “rights” over it.

Thanks for your time reading.

Useful topic. Here’s my 5p. When working in 3D space with camera, when navigating in custom view, try using camera track tool ( C ) instead of using percentage (100%, 50%, 25% etc) below the composition. This way your perspective will always remain the same, you’ll navigate easily and you’ll still be able to see big comp size.
