I just picked up the 2012 13” air and love it. I upgraded from a 2009 pro and while the display quality isn’t as good, the higher resolution is like working on a 15” screen.

I was going back and forth between air and pro with retina and decided I didn’t need retina yet and wanted something super portable.

Hey Derek!

I see you updated OptionTree to 2.0.8. My in-theme functions are working again!

However, the auto load of version 1.x files don’t seem to be working. I activate a theme and the theme options for that theme don’t load (i.e. fields and data).

EDIT : more info… I just have an “option-tree” folder with the theme-options.xml, theme-options.txt and layouts.txt files.

Thanks!

Chris

Hi Chris,

from v2.0 you can’t use anymore the option-tree folder for the xml and txt data of your options, that way to import the options is deprecated. That folder is now dedicated for the plugin.

To import the options with v2 you need a php file with the array of your settings.

From 2.0.8 you can export this php file from the OT settings page.

Parker

Hmm, the changelog says 2.0.8 “Adds auto import for backwards compatibility of old 1.x files.” Does that not mean the old files I’m referring to?

Chris

Does using “theme mode” require the author to manually update the theme for each new version of OptionTree?

Is there not an option like before where we can include some basic files to have all the options “built in”, but still allow the user to update the plugin on their own?

I’m not seeing anything like that in the documentation.

For the record, I want to say that I’ve got no anger or frustration for Derek on this one.

That’s a good point, and I have similar feelings… BUT … Wouldn’t an easy way to test if there was a problem be updating the plugin from 1.X to 2.X and seeing that nothing works?

Maybe I’m speaking from plugin developer ignorance (haven’t touched plugins), but that would be the first thing I would do once I think I have a finished product.
