I love to develop simple themes, with not so much functionality and following best practices. But the truth should be said. I don’t design beatiful themes as you, visually speaking.

So, please, ThemeForest, would be very welcome if we, simple theme developers, could submit ugly themes too, since they are well coded! :P

Thanks, Steven! A Partnership probably would be something interesting, but I need to think about. Is it usual people here doing partnerships? Do you have good experiences?

Thanks, Thiago

Hi,

Do you have plans to sell just the html template first? I liked about you creating something simple and too minimalist. it’s something that I look for ‘cause I prefer having a start point and not something ready. Maybe is easier having the html accepted. After that you try the theme.

Well, as a developer, I’d like to say that I don’t like seeing themes with so complicated options panels. IMHO wordpress theme developers should always prefer decisions beside giving options. For me, php code should be so simple as your design.

You should encourage your customers to customize your themes using child-themes while you keep your original theme (the parent theme) always updated.

Writing code inside your theme to support google analytics is not correct in my opinion. This is a plugin territory.

If interested about talking about.. send some e-mail or contact-me ;) but I’m not themeforest expert. I just love writing code.

Please, help me to understand when using regular license or extend license.

If I get 3 clients and all of them wants a website using the same base template, Is it enough buying the product 3 times here in themeforest?

Suppose that I have a showcase with these 3 jobs, if someone likes the showcase and wants something similar using the same base template, is enough just buying one more template again?

I just want to know if I can buy templates here, customize them and show them to my clients. If they like the job, I come here and buy a new license for each client. I will broke If I buy extend licenses for all templates that I like.. rs

Please, what’s your opinion?

Okay, I know… is just business. But I can’t agree that having both abilities is success. I just like buying html templates, but I hate buying wordpress themes ‘cause is already know that code from themes here is poor. Almost all themes have no good support for child-themes and rarely hooks are used correctly to give to the customers upgradability. Shortcodes are over used and admin panel is something that not agree with wordpress way of doing things, ‘cause they prefer decisions beside options. So, learning two things for me is probably a signal that some of them is not being done well.

So I agree that you choose what license you want, but I don’t agree that I should be a talented designer guy as you.

Hi,

I know this is a complicated subject… but sometimes I think that designer’s can extend php code with their beautiful images/css and sell them with no problems. But we, simple developers, that are not expert with images and css can’t put our ideas and php code inside your design and sell our peace of code and make some money like you do.

I love GPL . I love many designs that you do… but is sad seeing that all I can do is Just appreciate your jobs. Am I a guy that just cry or Do you agree that developers are too limited compared to designer when the subject/idea is doing business?

Thanks! Thiago Senna

++Dark

if the purpose is selling, a light version would be very nice too.

Hi,

I’d like to know if I can create wordpress themes compatible/extensible with a specific site template from ThemeForest. For example: The user download the wordpress theme (with a simple and basic shipped css). So this user comes to themeforest and buy the template and extract inside the wordpress theme.

Can I do something like that? Are there some license problem? You guys, Do you see any problems? (obs: I’d really want to respect your jobs)

I’m a wordpress developer but not a good designer. So I’d like to create good wordpress themes (some of them free, other payed) and give to the user an option to buy and reuse a template from themeforest.

Is my question clear? I’d apreciate any opinions… ( and excuse-me my bad english )

Thanks, Thiago Senna
