HBD Envato! Anyways, I’ve just got only 2 themes in my portfolio, a bit sad T_T Got just 6 items sold with 100% commission so far
Don’t worry people – for some August is great, for some August is bad. Every month someone is posting in the forum that sales are low Here are my unofficial rules for sales:
-There are in general fewer sales during summer -sales are way down during christmas holidays -there is no more rule
@timberry: your theme looks amazing and the sales are quiet good for a theme released just two weeks ago! My personal opinion on why it might not does as good as you want it: it’s too expensive. Sounds strange but there are many other themes in the portfolio space that are cheaper. Maybe next time try to not include woocommerce etc options and only make it “ready” for those plugins. That will bring your theme down to 4x Dollars and make it more attractivebesides that: I really love it – great theme!
I think so. It’s all about summer time and holidays.
Thanks for advice. Yes, that sounds strange to me. Actually, I understand that buyers here usually love premium products with full options/features and 5x shouldn’t be too much. lol I may be wrong after reading your suggestion.
Aug is the worst month for me though ;(
OMG! after reading this thread for a week I finally got 1 star!
You know why? The buyer said he incorrectly bought one of the themes in my portfolio and ask me to give him another theme (that he really expects to buy) FOR FREE !!!
Then, I ask him to contact Envato support but he rejected to do it and gave me 1 star for bad customer support (because I reject to give him another FREE theme lol).
I HATE IT !!! because it’s beautiful and I’m worried I’m having one more competitor lol ;P
Overall design is great! I think the missing thing is unique feature or unique experience. I called it WOW! factor when users experience your theme at the first time.
Be creative, make something different, and submit it again!
Sorry to say this, but there is no way you can get in to WordPress category with this design. It’s way better to start with HTML since HTML category has lower quality and also takes less time to create an item. Once you got the HTML approve you can tackle WordPress with more confidence. I know it hurts and you worked a lot but unfortunately based on my experience you better leave this design and start a fresh one.
It hurts but owwwlab is true.
But don’t have to enter HTML category. you still can stick with Wordpress category but try again with a new/fresh design.
Watch and learn from existing items in the market and you’ll see the trend to improve the design.
Thanks for nice encouragement and suggestion!
I agree with you that we always face uncertainty.
I hope one day I could have an Elite author badge like you, ImanBest,
I’ve got it in 8 months since I released my first item. And I believe you’ll get it even faster as you’ve great items in your portfolioCheers!
How many items in your portfolio at the time you got elite author?
Did you do any own advertising campaign?
( I’m just curious it’s ok if you don’t want to reveal your secret trick lol Anyways, I appreciate if you can PM me that trick lol)
53 sales for a theme in 14 days is bad? in summer time?
May be I’m too pessimistic… ;(
I may have too high expectation on the second item since I put a lot of effort on it . Actually, my first item makes 30+ in the first 5 days and that’s why I expect more from the second one. lol
Anyways, let’s sit, sip some coffee and wait a bit lol.
