^ This is law. You don’t need “official answer” for this, but I see that Envato doesn’t care about law :)

Because we are not officially author here :)

I seems stated For EU authorsonly :
For EU authors, we’ll be managing the EU VAT compliance (i.e. collection, record keeping, invoicing, remittance, and so on) for sales made to non-business buyers through Envato Market.
But what’s for None-EU authors? Am I wrong?

For Non-EU Authors they should collect, record and pay VAT as well. However it’s only for sales to EU customers.

Non-EU to Non-EU = no VAT

Non-EU to EU = VAT

Can someone confirm if Envato started to add VAT tax to prices for non-business EU customers?

Thanks Cocomero,

For Non-EU Authors they should collect, record and pay VAT as well. However it’s only for sales to EU customers.

But is it official answer ? Where it stated ?

Those questions were already answered and they’re pretty easy, I really don’t understand why people keep asking the same questions that were already answered 100 times instead of us all trying to get answers to some really important and basic questions like who’s the seller and how the new “invoices” will look like.

1) The same amount as before, the VAT will be kept by Envato.

2) It has been written numerous times that Envato will collect it and that you have nothing to do yourself.

3) No

Penalties are penalties, but let’s not compare penalties for $30 taxes and for $50,000 in taxes.

Thanks FinalDestiny,

.. and basic questions like who’s the seller and how the new “invoices” will look like.

I have deleted my all items.
Why would you do that? You’re not even in the EU, so all of this stuff hardly affects you..

But What if buyer are from EU?

I have been sent an email to Envato, but they have not replied yet.

I also write to reviewer to hold these items, but the process not going on.

If someone answer these questions, i will upload my about to ready WordPress theme.

So what? Seriously, you have barely 100 and a few sales and worry like you’d need to pay tens of thousands of dollars in penalties if something bad.

We are worried, but let’s not make drama here when it’s not required, you’re not even from EU so if Envato currently sells without VAT, you definitely can sleep just well.

Thanks dear,

I not make drama here. But the amount is not a problem. Penalties are penalties.

I sent this email:

Dear Collis,

Regarding EU VAT.

I am indian and live in Gujarat. I am not an EU Author.

( Sorry for my poor English )

@http://marketblog.envato.com/news/2015-eu-vat-changes/

  1. EU buyers who provide a valid EU VAT number as well as buyers who confirm their country is not located in the EU will not be charged VAT on Envato Market. For EU non-business buyers, we will add VAT based on the rate in their country of residence to the list price of the item(s) at time of purchase.
  1. For EU authors, we’ll be managing the EU VAT compliance (i.e. collection, record keeping, invoicing, remittance, and so on) for sales made to non-business buyers through Envato Market.

Questions:

1. Which amount I will get in my account (Author Price + VAT) or (Only Author Price) ?

2. Will Envato pay the VAT to the EU (for Indian Author) and I will get (Only Author Price ) without EU VAT ?

3. Will I have the option to sell only in selected country ?

If Envato will pay VAT for me and/or I have a choice where to sell then I have no problems, otherwise I will quit Envato and work as freelancer web design service provider.

hi, consider on

Regarding EU VAT, describe Envato’s process.

1. I’m an author from India, (act as buyer) I will buy an item (item price $10) from EU author. Describe the process of Envato for purchasing and selling.

2. I’m an author from India, (act as buyer) I will buy an item (item price $10) from None-EU author. Describe the process of Envato for purchasing and selling.

3. If were I’m an author from EU, (act as buyer) I will buy an item (item price $10) from EU author. Describe the process of Envato for purchasing and selling.

4. If were I’m an author from EU, (act as buyer) I will buy an item (item price $10) from None-EU author. Describe the process of Envato for purchasing and selling.
