File approved after 5 days, hits the front page and in less then 24 hours its gone.Hive must be busy as hell.
Here are some accepted files from graphicriver :
I think you can cut it pretty close as long as you don’t use registered trademarks (logos / names)
Minor adjustment to the main button maybe?
Everything works fine here (10.5)
This could turn out in your favor, let’s assume the file gets accepted in a “few days”...you hit the front page on sunday / monday. You have the whole week to make it to the top sellers AND the first half of the week seems to be the best sales days…
Just cheering up
There seems to be a lot of stock footage coming in so the project queue has slowed down a bit.Hang on,you’ll get there
EDIT : First on the overall queue too huh? There seems to be couple of new stock authors who are putting out files like crazy…i assume they are trying to get those “out of the way”
Thank you so much for these.Definitely will use these on my pages!
And different icons for different referral numbers. Like referred between 1-10, 10-40, vs..
Oh yeah definately. It would be nice that the referral program would be more rewarding.
Wish we had progressive referral percentages.
Esko, this is awesome! Didnt know about this, thanks for sharing..have you work before on any project like this? got a preview?
Awesome,i’m glad someone found something new.
Actually i was involved in the demoscene many years ago, doing some Flash for a couple of years. You can download my first demo ever from http://scene.org/file.php?file=/parties/2001/assembly01/flash/pixel_engine_by_esko_ahonen.zip&fileinfo – This made 3rd place at the Assembly 2001 demoparty.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep in mind that this is almost 10years old, using Flash 4 and the actionscript those days wasn’t much.Trying to show that there is much more to flash than just the keyframing
Although it is funny to see how i had a thing for particles even back then
My thoughts on a few things:
The Front Page: The front page in it’s current state will define the success of your file.Once your file is reviewed and accepted the next few days in the front page will define the success of that file.If it doesn’t sell in those few days to make it to the top sellers list,it’s gone…lost in oblivion…lost in the hive.
The front page needs more buttons: Recent files,Featured files,Top rated files,Most commented files…why do we even show the amount of purchases for a specific file? This only pushes authors and (some) buyers to follow the current trend…which leads to imitation. (Would like some thoughts about this)
Imitation: This is a thing that has been bothering me for a while and i think it’s time that we start talking straight up.The imitations need to stop.Sometimes the imitations are so obvious it’s ridiculous, you can easily name the file the author is “imitating”...i wouldn’t even call it “imitation” or “inspired by”...it’s copying.Authors copying popular files in hopes of cashing in.
Reward the quality: I think kramz’s project which he mentioned earlier is a great example here.I was away for a while and missed it on the front page (and i assume on top sellers list?) Anyway i ACCIDENTALLY stumbled upon that file somehow and the first thoughts were “How in the the hell did i miss this one?”
Quality like this needs more exposure,it needs to be rewarded more…not in just amount of sales.
