Thank you for the reply. I already saw this topics, but they don’t quite cover what I ask about.

I don’t need my headphones for studio work, “just” for enjoying music. Plus, I have a very tight budget.

Hello everybody!

I’m planning on getting some hi-fi headphones (just for enjoying music, not for production). Can somebody recommend me some?

Btw, does anybody have experience with wireless headphones? Any recommendations for those?

Oh, and budget is around 30-40 euros (or up to 80 euros for the wireless set). Can this be enough?

Thanks!

Yeah, this Christmas period is not that good for sales. Therefore we should enjoy other things during this period ;)

Good luck with your adventure as it sounds very promising ;) Happy holidays!

Congratulations Urbazon! Great portfolio and media variety! You have very good working motivation system. My goal was to try put here 100-200 items and check is it worth to use this annoying upload system :) I’ve overloaded the AJ system a little.

It’s worth! checked!

Thanks for your comment ;)
Yeah, you did a great job here on AJ and definitely reached and passed your goal. I wish you even more success in 2013.

Wow 800 items! Very impressive.. First I thought you meant 800 in one year! I see that it’s 800 in total ^^ so how many items did you make counting only this year? I think I’ll just do monthly resolutions :) planning for 1 whole year is too long for me :D. but my first plan is to make 1 sale here :P

Nope, it wasn’t 800 per year… Although, maybe I could try with that one this year… :D In 2012 it was around 300-ish AudioJungle items (if I’m not wrong) and more than 400 VideoHive items.

Monthly goals are good initiative as well. Good luck with them and let us know how it worked out for you ;)

December was quite steady for me up until 23rd or 24th, something like that. At that point sales literally sunk. Hopefully January will bring everything back on its course. :)

I just wondered if anyone has any New Year resolutions regarding the music they write? Maybe you want to resist the temptation to use the ukulele? or maybe you want to concentrate on improving your already approved tracks? Or concentrate on new material?

Personally, I have a few ukulele tracks in my head that I want to get recorded, but after that I’d like to leave the uke alone for a while and concentrate on some other ideas that I have. I’d also like to go through my existing portfolio and improve everything.

I’m going to hire some session musicians for one or two tracks to play violin.

I’d like to try to upload at least one new track per month, but preferably one per week when possible.

I will get a website up and running, and I will improve the look and usability of my portfolio (get some fancy graphics at last)

I will continue to cull tracks which are not doing as well.

What will you do?

After you finish with the ukulele ideas, please do focus on other ideas as I believe you will get another brilliant ethnic/folk tune out of your sleeve ;)

Regarding the website/profile page, I’m joining you with this one. It’s my New Year resolution as well.

Sorry for the separate topic, but I already prepared it earlier and it’s a bit broader than just about my music, so if anybody is interested: http://audiojungle.net/forums/thread/2012-summary-and-new-year-resolutions/83545 ... If you don’t get bored, as it’s quite lengthy :D

About a year ago everybody started talking about New Year’s resolutions (like every year at this time, right? :) ) I thought about it and realized – I can use this “custom” and set certain goals to guide me through 2012. However, I tried hard not to make unreal wishes, but some achievable goals. Measurable ones. (S.M.A.R.T. analysis, anyone? :D )

So, what were they? Well, basically they were very trivial: have (at least) 800 files in AudioJungle portfolio and try to get at least 300 files of stock footage on VideoHive. First one seemed so trivial, as I’ve already been in between 400 and 500, if I remember right, but I wanted it to be something achievable. The other one, however, was very optimistic, as at that time I didn’t even have my own camera (was occasionally borrowing one from my brother :D ). Although I never wrote them down, these goals were set in stone… I mean, in my head :D

I should probably keep this story short, so I’ll just present my summary:

  • 802 AudioJungle items – although I’ve recently shifted my focus from sfx to video and just crossed 800 items today, I managed it! Checked! (Lesson learned: devote more time to sfx! :) )
  • 548 VideoHive items – yeah, almost double than my initial goal. Checked!
  • Unplanned achievement: introduced myself to the 3dOcean marketplace in March
  • Unplanned achievement: got my silver paw just a few days ago
  • Sort of unplanned activity: started rebranding – as most of you already noticed, I got rid of that cheap annoying yellow avatar about a month ago :D

Overall, it was an amazing year, both from business and personal perspective. I managed to achieve my goals and – most importantly – I’ve learned a lot from these experiences.

My sincere suggestion to all of you: stop for a few minutes and ask yourself what would you like to achieve here. You can’t predict sales, so it would be very demotivating to make goals like “I want to reach 1000 sales” or “I want to start earning $1000 a month by the end of the year”. Instead, focus on things that really depend on you – what you can DO. Set some achievable goals – not too easy to seem too trivial and ignore them later; not too hard to demotivate yourself. Be realistic. Believe me, it would be a great guide for your business during the next year… I’m surely gonna do it again this year (but this time I’m gonna write them down and try to stay more focused :) )

Happy holidays to everyone and I wish you a lot of success in 2013! And sorry for this lengthy post :D Cheers! ;)

P.S. Feel free to share your goals and/or New Year’s resolutions. Or a summary of 2012. I’m sure there are a lot of interesting stories here. Looking forward to hear them.

EDIT: Oh, darn… Can some moderator move this to “All marketplaces”? I always forget to set the right category :D

4th – produce at least 30 SFX weekly
Wow, that would be a really a nice tempo :)

and for the far future – hire keywording person
Ah, I’d love to find a person who can do this for me. But I think that keywording is one of the most important aspects / stages of stock business and I can’t just let anybody do this. Still looking for the right person :)
