I’ve noticed the same behavior for my videos in stock footage category. http://videohive.net/forums/thread/my-video-not-appearing-in-the-newest-files-list/154629

I contacted support so I hope this will be looked at asap.

Hi. I made a search among the recent files and I can’t see my recently approved file, even though there are files accepted before and after my file. Is anybody else experiencing this? Is this a bug in the system, or is it a deliberate omission (and if that is the case, why is that?)

I guess we should wait for Christmas holidays to end to get an official response :)

Hi there! :)

I’ve come to the conclusion that 4k footage is quite problematic to compress to be under 1gb. I mean, it can be done, but with great loss in quality.

So, question for other authors and (especially) staff members:
What do you think, can we expect to see file size limit raised any time soon? At least only for hi-res footage…?

There are a looooot of scenarios in which “author is seller” model is absolutely impossible to work and definitely won’t hold water. Even only for that reason only I can see some percentage of authors escaping from Envato – simply because there would be absolutely no way for them to sell “directly” without breaking law(s).

What do you mean Some percentage?? Why dont you say only themeforest authors will stay instead.

I can’t know this :)

In my country, if I’m a seller, I should print an invoice for every income I made (services, selling licenses, whatever) and I can’t even figure out how to produce hundred of invoices for transaction of 0.50 cents. Therefore, the cost of the tax advisor for such complex situation could be much more than the income I made here.

In some other countries as well…

And also, in some countries things complicate a lot if you sell something to a person from the same country in different currency – often even totally forbidden…

Travis, I know you are only doing your work, but if there’s one to blame this time, is Collis. Not writing anything on the forum sounds too much like having guilty conscience.

It was completely my call on whether to open a new thread for this notice or not. I decided since we already have several ongoing threads, opening up a new one to discuss the same issues would not be beneficial. Monitoring four different threads puts us in the undesirable position to miss important feedback.

We are still figuring out the best way to inform the community of changes and gather feedback. I don’t fully believe the forums, at least the way we have them now, is the best channel for this. We’d like to bring some consistency, and I apologize as we work through different models and look at different options of how we share and discuss Market changes.

If you want to avoid confusion, then with every new “report”, lock the thread for the previous one and redirect to the new/fresh one. That way there won’t be two, three, dozen sticky posts to confuse people.

Please don’t act naive and to suddenly “not believe” in Forums… As others said, this whole situation is very suspicious, and you’re not handling it right, not at all…

Each month authors will have a bulk Author Fee invoice from Envato to the Author that aggregates all the author fees from that month into a single document.

Maybe I’m confused, but isn’t the author fee only 15%? And technically the other 15% is the “buyer fee”?

Let’s assume there’s a $10 sale. If Envato will report to the IRS that the author was paid $10, and the author is expected to write off 30% as a “business expense”, if the “author fee document” only lists 15%, how do we officially account for the other 15%.

It’s 20% (buyer fee) plus 10% (author fee). That’s why on statements page they are only showing us 80% of the total amount paid by buyer, instead of the full price.
