Oh, and also – wouldn’t it make sense to add “Underwater” option for the “Setting” attribute?

Hi @Urbazon – thanks for the suggestions related to additional settings. We had a lot of discussion internally about the Setting attribute. We initially had a lot more options included, but found that the list of possible options kept growing as we thought of more specific settings (e.g. urban, rural, coastal etc). We decided to go with a reduced set of options to make it very specific about whether the footage is indoors or outdoors. Other attributes/descriptions for setting or environment can then be captured in the tags/keyword list.

Having said that, Underwater definitely makes sense to add – technically underwater is either outdoors (ocean) or indoors (swimming pool) (just kidding :) ) but it makes sense to add this option in, so thanks for the suggestion!

I’m less sure about the vehicle in motion option – this feels more like a description of the setting of the shoot rather than a technique for movement of the camera itself. Happy to be overruled on this though if authors feel it is worth adding in?

Remember the aim of these attributes is to improve discoverability of items for your buyers. If you feel that your buyers would specifically want items that are shot from a moving vehicle then it makes sense to add it in. If this is a very rare requirement, perhaps it makes sense to keep this information in the tags and description?

Well, swimming pool can be either indoors or outdoors; however, fish tanks tend to be indoors :)))

Joking aside, I think that “underwater” definitely stands out from others you mentioned (urban, rural, etc…) because it is definitely different setting – physically, not just thematically :)

Regarding the “vehicle in motion” option – I actually initially asked for help to define which of the available options to use; I am not sure either whether it should be added or not as a separate option. More so because there are different kinds of vehicles – at least, it’s not the same for land vehicles and aircrafts… It might have sense for buyers to demand these kind of camera movement specifically, but I see how it can complicate things…

But, that said, if this option will not be added, can we at least discuss about which of the available options to use? Sometimes, the camera is mounted on the vehicle itself and it might be considered as a lockdown, but since the vehicle is moving, the camera motion is introduced – hence it’s not a lockdown :) Or, if the camera is handheld, or stabilized (steadicam) or even on a tripod, where possible, there is still vehicle movement which creates different end result than using mentioned options on still surface – the camera movement is different.

Maybe it makes sense to add just a single general option “vehicle in movement”, but without going into details (boat, car, train, etc…). We do have “aerial” for aircrafts, after all :)

3 days to go and no entries at all?? Is it possible to hope for an extension of contest time?

Jeez, you almost got me there :))) :P

Deadline is 11th of June, not May :)

I would like to point out something: there is already confusion between “crab” and “dolly” movement types. I was also doing it wrong, but after digging around the Internet I finally found some texts which explain it clearly. Just look at the VideoHive library and you’ll see that many people use “dolly” for crab shots.

Maybe you should consider creating a quick guide after all…?

Hey Urbazon,

Both suggestions are noted, I’ll talk it over with the team and see about adding something for vehicles and an underwater attribute.

Thanks!

Hey, Mark. Thanks for the reply. ;)

This is not working. It only takes into account the selected period, but completely ignores filter by marketplace. :( Please make it complete.

Hi urbazon,

Thanks for your suggestion :) For this release, we have been focused on providing a complete picture of all earnings activities for any given time period. We might consider adding additional filters later on.

Cheers, Ronja

Thanks for the answer ;)

I hope you do implement the filters. Not only that it would be extremely useful, but you also have misguiding wording “Your account activity for the selected options” – yet some of the “options” are totally ignored.

Great move, but why there is no “Add to cart” into the Popular week page? Cheers
Tony.

Hi Tony,

We’ve got a few areas of the site like Collections and Popular that look the same as the search results but are actually using different (and older) code. We’re working to fix this and as we do we’ll be getting the Add to Cart button across more of the market.

Cheers, Luke.

Maybe a bit offtopic question, but does this mean that Portfolio page also might soon finally get some love it deserves? We’ve been asking for a long time now some reasonable and (from our point of view) minor but very useful and helpful features to be added to Portfolio page, however we still don’t see them, even though they exist on other areas of Marketplaces already.
