OK FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!! Anyone else in the U.S. with this issue I found a way around this. So instead of purchasing a template directly and then selecting PayPal or Skrill for payment which in my case declined.

Do this….. First create a Skrill account and verify everything including your identity. Then attach your U.S. bank card to the account. Then deposit the amount you want to get on Themeforest into Skrill. Once that is all done, then go to your Themeforest account and do a deposit for the same amount. Select Skrill only say you already have an account. Put in your Skrill credentials and bingo! Themeforest credit.

Stupid workaround but hey…. Whatever works :-)

Admin may want to pin something about this on the forum for people in the U.S. who run into issues.

Well this stinks. I even went to the store looking at prepaids and they all say “For use in the U.S. only.”. So I guess I am going to need a new store outside of Themeforest until they loose enough business to offer some sort of payment method witin the U.S.

I just created an account to purchase a theme and I’m severely disappointed in the payment options here.

PayPal, which I and many other people refuse to use for a plethora of reasons, and Moneybookers, which is more or less a PayPal clone. Neither of which are run by a legitimate financial institution and are prone to freeze accounts on a whim.

If you want to use detached, third party payment solutions like this instead of a proper, integrated and direct payment system at least include Serve, which is run by an actual financial institution on their back end.

I’m not sure if I’ll be making a purchase here or not with such limited payment handlers.

Could not agree more.

Well after doing a little bit of Google searching I found this has been going on for some time with Themeforest. Themeforest REALLY needs to offer a payment method within the U.S. or you are going to loose a lot of sales. At this point I am going to be forced to look to other sites for my purchase. :-(

Old thread but same issue. I can’t purchase from here either. After speaking with the bank it’s because they will not allow out of country transactions. Themeforest REALLY needs to find another payment method within the U.S. or they are going to continue to loose out on sales.

If I just go to the store and buy a prepaid VISA for $100 if that would work or would it decline also?
More than likely that would decline, for some reason the providing banks for many prepaid Visa cards in the US won’t transact with Australia due to ‘internal policies’. :(

Yeah this really sucks. I have 2 templates I want to pick up but even my own bank with a debt card will not allow the authorization because it’s outside the U.S. I even said but what if I am giving permission for it? They said nope.

Yeah I might try that. Just really don’t want a PayPal account.

Yes but I do not have a PayPal account, I just wanted to pay through PayPal. Also I do not see those options you have listed. It only shows PayPal and Skrill.

So I just tried to deposit $100.00 first by PayPal which was declined and then by Skrill which also declined so I called my bank who spoke with the card department. They do not allow out of country (U.S.) transactions which is why it was declined. The part I do not understand is that when you do a payment through PayPal, that is in the U.S., right? The bank does not see it as PayPal, they see it as Envato which is out of the U.S.

Not sure how I can add credit at this point?
