@wptitans: You are simply incorrect, and your generalizations are meaningless in this case. Let’s stick to the facts. I read the comments many times and some of the issues I had others had as well. However, the authors chose to answer these questions by personal email instead of putting up the answers for everyone to see. You wouldn’t have to “answer the same basic questions” over and over if you answered them for everyone to read. See my point? And, your “users give the item a 1 star rating because we didn’t reply in 10 hours” comment….try waiting 4.5 weeks for a fix to an issue that is clearly a bug in the coding. How many stars would you give it then? And, “all authors are providing good support” comment…Most, maybe, certainly not all. Maybe you should get the facts before making such statements.
I was not referring to you personally. My comment is what is happening in 98% of the cases, in your case if there’s indeed a bug the author in question should fix it within a timely manner or else it would fair to give a 1 star rating or a refund.
Nothing against that, but 98% of the time buyers are giving the items a bad rating because of the things i commented about.
37 here, from the Netherlands.
nobody ask the bicycle seller to teach him how to cycle. buying theme is like buying laptop, where some include user guide, some don’t. some laptop makers put great effort on well documented user guide with videos, etc. , some just put crappy stuffs with words not understandable by customers. some store kindly assist you how to setup, some don’t. some store gives you warranty, some just ran away and missing. most authors are also customers. at the end of the day, customer feels comfortable buying from store who has friendly assistance, some got ripped off.
Not true, i personally believe all authors are providing good, descent support and guidance for there themes.
It’s the people who buy a theme here from us and don’t have any what so ever knowledge of wordpress it self and expect us to help them with basic set up, like importing an xml file, upload the correct theme folder to the wp-content/themes/ folder and activate it.
All these type of basic questions is something we can’t answer all the time since they have been answered a few comments back. All they have to do is read the comments to find the answer, but that’s just to much work for them, so instead they just give the item a 1 star rating because we didn’t reply within 10 hours.
This attitude of buyers is strange and certainly the most “We don’t care… we have paid !”also i saw too many comment like : Oh i need refund ! your theme doesnt work for me!.... and repost a comment 5 minutes later and say : oh sorry, it´s my fault, i didnt fill anything in my site!
+100 for this
Only a problem if you have low rating, if you make you items as advertised people get what they expect and they rate you well. I like the system as it is!
Wait and see the moment he’s releasing a WordPress theme or Flash item, then he will hate that rating system as well
Nothing, only a bank card . Never have any cash in my pocket, always paying with my card.
Mooie prestatie mannen, nu op naar de volgende paw . Wij komen er ook zo aan als het zo door gaat als nu
Yep, they are looking great but from the moment they arrived the grid view of the items is messed up.
no, you’re not allowed to give freebies through the marketplaces. Use your own website to do thatParker
Why aren’t you allowed to do this? I can remember there are quite a few author who already did this. Like the time the coming soon pages where popular they where not allowed to upload the wordpress version so they decided to ad the wp version inside the html package for free.
So when I’m not mistaken it is allowed, but PK has a point though. When you release it on your own site then you have some extra traffic which will end up to your items as well.
