this argument is not working because it will not pull the custom post type

$args = array( 'orderby' => 'post_count', 'order' => 'DESC', 'role' => 'contributor' );

WP_User_Query does not support ‘post_type’ arg.. anybody has an idea? :)

@louiejie, thanks for the code but still not working..

Hi,

I have a code something like this

$args = array( 'orderby' => 'post_count', 'order' => 'DESC', 'role' => 'contributor' );
$want_agents = get_users($args);

foreach ($want_agents as $want_user) :
    global $wpdb;
    $want_post_author = $want_user->ID;
    $want_count = $wpdb->get_var( "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM $wpdb->posts WHERE post_author = $want_post_author AND post_type IN ('want_item') and post_status = 'publish'" );
   ?>
   <li class="clear">
     <?php echo $want_user->display_name; ?>
   </li>
  <?php
    endforeach;

but post_count is not working, anyone can help?

thanks
