I am looking for a solution combined with WordPress as my first choice of CMS .

I am planning on developing a site for legal advise where legal articles are published and so on. I want to give visitors the opportunity to ask questions on the site, or on a attached forum. These questions will be answered if they pay a fee, say 1dollar per question. I was thinking of using PayPal for the payment.

Does anyone have any plugins, links or idea’s on how i can best implement this? I’m having trouble figuring out a way to handle the payments. At the moment i’m not sure if i want to work with a credit system or just use direct payments.

Any insights are appreciated!

But you may need to test each script works as intended.

Also it is not a good idea to give any directory 777 permissions. So try the wp-content directory with 755 or 750 to prevent future headaches with security breaches.

Magically i’ve just tried editing the permissions on my wp-content again and now it suddenly worked. I’ve set them to 777 and voila.

What are the standard permissions again for that folder? 755? and 644 for individual .php files?

I have created some custom options using option-tree. Everything works fine locally but now that i’m trying to import the xml file on my server i get an error saying “Wrong file type”.

I googled for ages and nothing seemed to work.. i tried renaming, i double checked the file type, i changed permissions and everything.

So far no luck, i noticed that more people used to encounter this problem so i thought someone might have a working solution for me.

Importing the file locally works perfectly so it seems that there’s nothing wrong with my xml file..

As far as i can tell he is just asking for help. Besides i already informed him that his best bet on receiving decent feedback is by putting up a link to his theme.

Yes indeed. I’ve got a multisite install with wamp server, so each time I begin building a new theme I simply create a new site in my network and off I go.

The setup on my live server is just the same. New demo to setup -> create new network site -> off I go.

I’m pretty sure that’s the setup 99% of theme authors here have, as well.

Got multisite up and running now, time for some action!

Looks kinda flat, try using a fresh color scheme.. something that makes you think WOW . Also try to find some more information about using whitespace properly, this makes a huge difference in your design.

I am using a multisite for demo purposes on my server though. Wasn’t entirely sure if this was sufficient for local developing. I do hope that you understand my pain from the main post? i feel like i’m the only one having this problem.
