Hi mate, what’s your budget for this? I estimate that a vBulletin site from scratch (PSD to vBulletin) can cost more than $1,800,00.

Yes it can be expensive but not that expensive

This guy is an excellent forum designer, hey sells premade templates and also custom his price starts at 200 I believe.

Another great designer, my friends but his custom services for their forum. I don’t know the price they paid.

but anyway I don’t think you will ever find forum skin’s on themeforest. because premade ones cost like 25 – 40 dollars.

Anyone willing to do a one-time full custom design, coding, implementation of a vbulletin site for $200 is insane IMHO . But hey, if they wanna work for free by all means I suppose…

I think he said premade vBulletin skin for $200. If you want a custom vBulletin skin for VB4 , it’s going to be expensive, considering that there is an all-new templating engine in this release, and not many people are familiar with the new format, stylevars, etc (even me, and I work for vBulletin!). Since it is just in public beta, some things might change when the final release comes out, so you’d be better off waiting a few months until people start cranking out solid themes.

While I come from an IPB Background. I know we payed around 300 – 700 for a custom skin. I know there are good premades around 25 – 60.

199 if you had a psd already made

The IPB Skinners I know also do VB.

Look here there premades cost $30 http://vbskinworks.com/phpclient/browse_products.php?category_id=1

I just don’t think a custom forum skin should cost anywhere above 1,000

But if fillerspace works for them then I guess he would know a rough estimate on how much they cost.

Like all custom work its hard to put an estimate on things.

Your’e not just after a forum skin though, you’re after a blog, cms etc.

Basically to build a theme into those, would be 100+ hours depending on the experience with vbulletin. Vbulletin is one of those custom programs you would know. Learning to style for vbulletin isn’t easy (i have a go with it a few years ago).

$1.800 is about right, but it depends how much you think your forum means to you. Pay cheap, pay twice springs to mind.

If you already have a psd etc, then expect to pay $300-$500 less. It depends on the individual freelancer though.

VB4 is at Beta 5 right now, and we’re aiming for RC1 next week. For reference, here is the first template we did as a test case for VB4 Beta 5 in a production environment. This one took 5 weeks for a default-looking skin, even with the help of the vB team down the hall.

Keep in mind that no designer out there is going to have experience with the new template engine. Even experienced 3.x designers will have a learning curve with 4.0. Plus the CMS and blog are all new. Expect anyone making VB4 templates for the next few months to charge a premium for them.

If you see a completely custom 4.0 theme complete with blog and CMS it’s either going to cost $1000 or more, or the designer is going to take a long time to learn on the job. It’s just a reality at least for the next few weeks/months.

Forum + Blog = $3500 / $4000

@Freddy Dude skinbox is a themeclub custom WordPress themes can cost more than $2000 but woothemes and themeforest sell cheap themes. You can’t say that.

Well that would be the “or more” part ;-)
