You have a point, but I think the OP meant “thankful”.

Then I would thank my country for being located on a place where there is less chance of earthquakes – which helps me to concentrate on work.

We can’t be thankful in a twisted-limited way. While the same can be done through pride. Thankfulness requires realisation – pride doesn’t. By asking someone “what you are proud of” many times, we can actually make him/her to proud about unwanted things. Once done, reverting the same would be very difficult; observed this in my school days!

I’m probably the less patriotic person on this planet..I don’t really care about what my country did in in the past, simply because i didnt personally do it ! I’m the god of myself, and I get motivated from what I do, not from others.

Although I can understand OP’s intentions in opening this thread, I personally think nationality, like your religion, is nothing but something that’s purely dependent on your parents. I mean, I’m and Indian and Hindu because my parents are. If they were in some other country then I would be a citizen of a completely different country. None of us have any say in this matter except of course if you manage to get a different country’s citizenship.

So, yeah, there’re many things that I like about my country but I don’t take personal pride in any of them and the one thing that I like most about it is the diversity. You can travel all around India and you think you’ve learned about all the different traditions and cultures and then you stumble up on something new.
