Just wanted to make this issue into staff’s attention. This thread isn’t directly related but there is no way other than highlighting here (as woothemes review involves with manual sorting of list). The item sorting is already a complex department when it comes to managing home page exposure (especially when single author have multiple new items, caching speed etc). In the recent 3 weeks, there are 2 threads posted by GraphicRiver authors related to missing items on homepage but so far not solved.

According to justinfrench’s post it seems so far no clarity about exactly what causes the above issue. In such case, I would suggest never manually alter the arrangement of items in the future like how it was done for woothemes. I don’t know exactly in which way the staff manages to alter the list but in case those sections slightly involve developer works in an automated way, testing for perfection would be almost impossible.

I wont complain this particular issue again but just putting a request of ethics. In the future, please never insert bulk new items back in the timeline – it is a huge compromise as the same can be done by including the items gradually through the public queue. May be PhotoDune and lightweight content sites can tolerate such huge impacts but for ThemeForest and heavy duty sites, it is too much to add bulk items through back door.

I’m not sure why the author needs to respect a business partner who is ok with everybody else selling his work but not for him.

+1 this is the crucial point for me for a while..

You will need to tick the “Show the option to offer 100% GPL on my items (where available).” option under “Author Settings”. Then when you upload or edit one of your items, you’ll have the option to select the 100% GPL license.

As we know themes and plugins that are hosted by wordpress.org are GPL licensed, so does it mean we can copy-paste a plugin and sell it on CodeCanyon with GPL license?

That would be against our marketplace policy, and isn’t very ethical behaviour.

I’m aware this thread hasn’t been posted in for a couple of weeks, but I submitted a support ticket about GPL licensing, and haven’t had a response with an answer yet. My ticket ID is: #DFQ-982-17027.

Hey Sam,

You have received a response, at least a temporary one, please be so kind as to be patient, the appropriate Staff will be getting back to you on that ticket sooner than later. The reply I’m talking about should be from Sarah, if you haven’t gotten it, please check your spam folder.
