I’d like to get some feedback regarding 1140 css grid themes.

My client wants to keep his current site design, which has 3 columns (left sidebar- main content- right sidebar).

I’m finding that 960 is too narrow for three columns. So the next logical option is 1140- right?

I already hired a developer to code the site into 960 frame, but I’m not liking it.

I downloaded the 1140 Fluid Starker thread, but I’m starting to see that it’s a very limited theme.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Bootstrap is a great responsive framework with the possibility of a wide grid.

You can customize what features you want to include to make it very lightweight: http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/index.html

If you want to see an example with 3 columns and a grid of 1200px take a look at my first theme.

Hi damojo- thanks for the quick response.

I checked out bootstrap- does it come with a WP theme? I’m trying to figure out how this would integrate into WP.

Bootstrap as such is html only. There are WP versions based on it though that might help you get started: http://320press.com/wpbs/

I wonder when Envato will allow links when reasonable and legit, and we can skip this kind of mistery answers. :P

Ok- this looks good. I assume that I should create a child theme since I will be customizing the theme. Right?
