I had the same problem as duro with that theme, had to go into ftp to get my site back, the theme also shows error here on preview, you will see it flash quickly before the demo shows.
Hey there, we’re working on updating it on the website, but in the meantime, Laborator has requested that you email with your purchase code and username and he’ll help you out. http://themeforest.net/user/Laborator

From the description on the item it states:

“Every item has been reviewed and re-reviewed to make sure that you’re getting quality as well as quantity.”

So I guess someone dropped the ball?

I agree with many useful suggestions that have been written here about different way of marketing instead of permanent Bundle. But I do not agree that it affects sales. At least on my sales.

My statistic for all the time.

Statistic

This is only my stats. I’m sure Envato has more information about all authors and marketplaces.

I don’t rule out that Bundles affect sales of some authors. But it depends on many factors: a number of projects in portfolio, quality of projects, how often are new projects, etc.

Have nice day, guys! :)

I’ve had around 5-6 sales per day in the last 10 days, and last 24 hours (from the time when bundle is released) – 0 sales. Because of that, I think that it’s definitely affecting my sales… but I’ll wait and see what will happen in the next few days. Maybe today is just not my day! :)

Hi guys,

I just want to mention that we haven’t seen Bundles canibalize overall sales historically, and they allow us to do more external promotions: emails, banner ads, etc – which drives more overall sales to the Marketplaces.

No offense Carmen but that’s the same corporate message people have had since the introduction of bundles and complaints from authors over several years stating they have lower sales on the forums.

Is this mean we can expect bundles in the future that runs for more than 14 days? With the same reasoning of it never canibalize overall sales? If there is even 0.5% reduction of sales observed, do you guys take it as serious or just leave it as “this is nothing”. But that 0.5% reduction means bunch of potential new items losing its precious initial sales and going to die.

The “overall sales” is really difficult to observe. A bundle might be affecting a particular subcategories sales while our “average” studies missing to observe those differences. This marketplace should respect stability of each and every individual file.

I agree with this and feel that bundles do not affect overall sales. If it does its very minor and overall it can simply drives more users to all marketplaces.

For sales, compare the top files of the week for all marketplaces for last week, and then this and next week while the bundle is active to see if sales are affected. I highly doubt they will be as they have not been before.

I know it’s not all about top files losing sales, and the top files will of course sell better, but it certainly is some level of proof that bundles do not canibalize sales.

I myself also have several files on Graphic River under my personal account and have not seen sales drop when bundles are released, and none of them are in top files except for one small item.

I can see everyone’s side of frustration for a 2 week bundle, but it’s purely marketing and they have every right to do it and to test it out. Envato’s goal is to make money for themselves and for each author. Its what makes this marketplace so successful and active. I feel everything they do is to achieve that goal :)

Just my .02

@ThemeFusion Top sellers are rarely getting affected in sales whatever changes happen. They are prone to regain sales once time passes.

But the new items are prone to face disasters. The heavy initial smack happened to a new item can’t be recovered and even hard to observe.

I am pretty sure Envato is NOW doing Bundles just to expand their share of profit out of new items. That’s why the 7 days is not enough for them. This is how the “Only 14 days” sounds.

Anyway, Envato’s answer is strong and positive about their observation – respect that just for the sake of authors being unknown about sales trends. If the overall initial sales trend go down in the next month, Envato has a dozen external reasons to assume rather than taking it as impact of Bundle. so now we live with a belief system instead of business deal! :D
