Days 1-5:
Ad campaign blitz. Generate “buy soon” buzz. Bundle brings in new members.

Result:
Everyone benefits.

Days 6-14:
Bundle becomes old news. Word of mouth dies down. Bundle stops bringing in new members.

Result:
With no new members, bundle serves no purpose other than undercutting existing marketplace items.

I mean you found out that packs are allowed by stumbling across my item recently, but I just did what I’ve seen several times here so I was confused that you don’t seem to know that this is common sense for quite a while.

I will speak just this time about your item, I know is forbidden but you mention it so I will take the opportunity. Feel free to ask a moderator to remove this comment if you think is not ok.

the file your are talking about is different from the broadcast packs. Broadcast packs (like the infographics packs) are items with a certain style and different elements that are made to be used together.

Yours is 14 intro logos, where each intro can be simple used separately with no problem. While you can buy a license for the broadcast pack and use it one time is not the same for your file. No existing license on videohive can cover the correct use of your item.

Theoretically you can have a project that have 14 different logos intro inside so the “one time use” may apply but practically those different intros will be used for different projects, similar with the tool license or the bundle license.

You can’t expect the buyer to pay the item price each time he uses one of the different 14 intros from your file.

Your item cost 25 $ while a similar item with only one intro logo may cost around 10$-12$. So the buyer gets a better deal from your item than the rest of the single intros from the other authors.

Let me clarify, this is nothing against you or the file is just an example of what type of file the reviewers approved recently and featured. This is pretty clear to me that they are ok with this type of items and actually they want more of them.

I see no reason why this post shall be removed, since you are talking the truth.

You say what caught your attention was the fact that my pack has different animations that can be used standalone. The difference to a broadcast pack is it is not meant to be used together, you are right. For that I will bring up another example: Packs from the great author Phantazma. He makes really big packs ($50) and holds the record for the highest priced item – well deserved. These packs have a certain topic and include soundfx and animations fitting to that theme. But they can and shall be used individually, as I understand.

I think my pack is not so different to his.

And then, there is a file some years old which contains 12 logos just like mine, even without a context like mine “clean and bright”-theme.

About the pricing part: I have no influence on that, as reviewers decide that. They cannot forbid packs because of the “better deal”-factor when theyself make the prices. I don’t know how sales will be when it is priced higher.

Nevertheless, as you can see at my portfolio, I still upload single logos and animations, although my pack is the bestseller. Why? Because if you see it on a per file ratio, I have 16 sales pro Animation. If I had uploaded them as single animations, I’m sure they would have made more sales. More money, I think, too.

So, there is a good and a bad side to packs and everyone should make up his mind if it is in his interest to sell some of his work together or not. I decided to do so because of the fact that my animations are pretty simple and might not be accepted as template on its own.

But let’s get back on topic:

You guys say on the one hand, the second week doesn’t bring in any new customers, but on the other hand, that this second week cuts off more of your sales. So, where are the regular sales during that second week?

There are two type of customers: one-time-buyer and repeating buyer.

The one-time buyers come to the marketplaces for the first time, most possibly because of the bundle. They buy the bundle and will never buy anything again cause they have what they need.

But without the bundle they wouldn’t come to the marketplaces in the first place so there is no loss on your site. Actually, if they are turn out to be mutlitple-time buyers they actually bring you more income.

The other buyers might already be in this marketplace and MAY buy the bundle instead one of your files. yes. But who is already regularly shopping at the marketplaces will the bundle in the first week or even the first day, cause it is promoted so much. So the second week doesn’t affect these buyers so much.

bundles should last 3-5 days max, otherwise you’re killing sales from your authors. really.

It needs to last as long as it takes for one to add money in an account and buy stuff. Half a month bundle is not a bundle. Is selling stuff cheap.

not to mention that, with the bundle ending 24th, envato wouldn’t have the time to transfer shares to authors by the end of the month and will be “forced” to keep them until next payout.

Making interest from authors earnings, maybe that’s a little trick they learned from Amazon’s treatment of marketplace sellers. ;)

My original post was censored and deleted because of the word ‘ass’. Come on, mods… These forums are the most prudish I’ve ever been to.
