You have to remember, when it comes to large goverment websites etc it is not just the design that costs money. You have to think of the infastructure cost to house that website,
Servers (lots of them) Firewalls Network Switches Racks Networking costs Software

Its very easy to say 14M omg wtf! But all you and i see is the front end of what proberly is a very complex system.
I agree with your point…but I think what people are getting at is when we see the front end of a very complex system…and even the front end is broken all over the place, then it’s pretty likely the “very complex system” is about of equal quality.
So while may be easy to get to the millions in dollars spent on a quality site…One should be quite angry to see that millions were spent and it turned out the devs/designers taking the money didn’t know what they were doing

That’s why there is so much of this “OCCUPY” stuff happening in America.
The occupy movement is confusing to me. Yes it sends a message, but shouldn’t the protests be held outside of government facilities instead? After all, our Treasury Secretary is a Wall Street guy:

Every American should watch this movie:

It explains in great detail how our government, banks and Wall Street blatantly stole from U.S. citizens and not a single person was ever held accountable.
@xstortionist I completely agree. No matter how much a politician says they’re going to “change” the system, the problem is that they’re most likely already a part of it.
We could go on for days about the american government, but no matter what we say or do, we’ll never be able to change the system.

I don’t want to get into the politics of it, but it seems like if you revolt against the Government – then they’d bring in the National Guard, people would get hurt.
The constitution says you’re allowed to revolt against the Government, but various laws don’t allow for it.

I’m not an American but I watched it. It’s a great film and it explains very well where we are right now and why we are this way.
