Alright first off i’ll show you the rejected templates.

They all got rejected with this message:

“This File Did Not Meet Our Criteria

Thanks so much for taking the time to submit this template. Unfortunately, due to our current quality standards, your template has been declined.

This template is not aesthetic ready for TF and it will be very hard to be improved and get accepted. It required many improvements in term of design, visual hierarchy, typography, layout and its aesthetic quality.”

So i was wondering if anyone could help me and perhaps point me to some tutorials/articles that could help me or give me some info on what i am doing wrong and what i should be doing.

Thanks a lot in advance all!

Sorry for offtopic, but there should be a topic with a name: “What should i change on my desgin?”, because i see that every day there are few new topics with same problem and question.

we have a section for that… it’s called item discussion…..... but the stupid thing about that is, that now we have “themeforest” topic as default….. so not many ppl gonna see those threads posted in item discussion :(

Yeah I have one in there looking for feedback (nothing I sent through to TF yet) but no replies…kinda of a dead place in Item Discussion.

Not sure if I have anything to add to this thread though, the themes need some work to bring the quality up…the links posted should be carefully reviewed as well.

First of all, thanks for the links they will sure be of great help!

Most design tutorials are pretty outdated in terms of design, and these aren’t and that’s really good!

But now, I would really like if anyone could tell me, what is so wrong about my designs? I mean, I can see something is wrong and stuff but… I can’t quite put my finger on it. Especially not on the “outdoors” one (except for the content perhaps)

But that might just be me.

Thanks!

  • 1. Design
  • Color is bad. Font in the header is awful. The site is kind of empty, and there is much room between the text and bottom images. Overall: 1/5

  • 2. Design
  • Again one version of color with small changes (gradient). That “Sign Up” button it looks like it is from year 1999. Using basic font (Arial), try something different, something modern. Overall: 0.75/5

  • 3. Design
  • I will admit that this design has a potential. The background is ok and also that middle thing. But if we are in the nature, shouldn’t the header be more natural? Now it looks like we are in a space (white/grey gradient). Overall: 2.5/5

Yes I am hard on words, but that is the truth. If I say: “Hey Raykoid your design isn’t very nice but keep it up!”, I am telling the truth, but not helping you. First start with going through some tutorials. I would also recommend reading this book: http://www.sitepoint.com/books/sexy1/ and this one: http://www.sitepoint.com/books/design1/

Plan your design, first sketch it on a paper, then go to Photoshop and then play. Keep it up! ;)

    P.S That tutorials aren’t outdated.
