So I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into this template the last few weeks, and want to know what you all think of the initial version. Can you comment on things such as typography, usability, white space etc; everything that makes a good design. I’m trying my best to get it all right =D
Here’s the preview.
I am currently working on several other colour schemes for it, and documentation. Just though some initial feedback would be useful in making my first proper themeforest upload effort a good, solid one =D
the only downside I see is that Roundabout is kinda slow when using large images.
Other than that, looks great.
Is it only me or is this a combination of levitation and display theme?
Just my two cents
The image scroller is inspired by Kriesi’s scroller in Levitation. I spoke to him about his script, but as it was custom coded, I searched for another one and came up with this carosuel Jquery plugin which I’ve modified to my needs.
As for display, it’s not inspired by it at all. I fail to see where it has any real similarities o.0
Anyway, thanks for the thoughts so far, I must have done something right to receive some nice’s, and be compared to two awesome themes lol
Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts as to how it could be improved fire them down. Nothing is ever perfect; everything can be improved some way or another.
I like the visual impressions very much, but I too have to say that the index page and the about page look very similar to kriesi’s Twicet theme (I noticed because I am using it for my page ).
Other than that, I like the top navigation very much and the fine dotted lines as well as the fine lines around the portfolio and blog images. Very nice details.
Very nice, I especially like all the image hover effects, really makes the design pop!
By image hover effects do you mean the span that pops up in the bottom right, the box shadow, or both?
I though some nice css3 effects for modern browsers were a nice addition, and degraded well into older browsers =)

I ment both, they work together perfectly and really add a lot of character to the design. The only real suggestions I can make, is to possibly add a faint pattern or gradient/glow to the background. But it looks great!
