You guys experiencing any paypal issues? Since one of our clients complained an hour ago that he cannot buy one of our items trough paypal?
Just found out that 1 february had additional complained that a purchase could not be done for another theme of ours

Yep, had similar reports from potential buyers for the last 2-3 weeks. Not sure if it’s anyhow related tot his issue, but my sales dropped by ~50-60% since than (3 weeks). Also noticed some items suddenly just stopped selling even if they were performing quite good before that period. At the same time I can see an increase in the total number of sales of some files that wasn’t selling so good.
I was scratching my head wondering what might happen – changes in search algorithms, problems with PayPal payments etc.
At the end – no, you’re not alone in this.
The changes and stumbles Envato and ThemeForest is passing through can be easily seen on the graph right at the bottom of the page: http://tf.marketopia.net/ Sales have drastically fallen in recent times. Take the numbers with a pinch of salt since those are estimates.
I guess some of the recent changes aren’t beneficial for the market? I don’t know
This is very disturbing, loosing money should be priority nb. one! And would like quick response info on this. Already submitted a ticket and flagged for staff answer.

Thanks for bringing this up. Unfortunately we aren’t aware of any issues with the PayPal gateway at the moment. There are a whole host of reasons why your customer’s transaction might not have been accepted:
- Incorrectly entered card details
- Their PayPal account has an old (expired) card or bank account linked (common)
- The customer is trying to pay with a prepaid Visa card
- The customer’s card issuer has noticed we’re based in Australia and blocked the overseas transaction (very common)
- Insufficient funds from the payment source
- Customer’s based in a non-PayPal region (such as Nigeria, Pakistan, Montenegro)
In very rare cases there’ll be something on a customer’s Envato account preventing the purchase from going through.
Generally if you could send your customer(s) to our support system when they’re unable to pay, we’ll be able to work out why their payments aren’t going through and point them in the right direction.

Actually the problem is that buyers with cards and PayPal accounts already used for purchases (including purchases of my other items), reported they can’t purchase a specific item, while they can still buy other items with the same account. Happened to me twice for the last month. Don’t know if they managed to fix the issue, because I am always redirecting them to official envato support for this type of questions .
Unfortunately I don’t keep those e-mails as they are not item related and my e-mail is quite overloaded with random stuff, so I can’t even tell you which buyer accounts. I’ll let you know if someone report similar issue again.
