I’m sure they can’t spend all day writing every detail about rejections. Design looks generic, that’s all I can spot…
Nothing new about this thread – just had a theme rejected and I would appreciate your input. With all due respect to the reviewer, the email was extremely unhelpful (approval standards, etc.)
Hit me with your honest thoughtsCheers, Paul.
try to increase the width of the dropdown menu, the slider shadow looks cut off; and I’m not sure that you can use the myriad font family for commercial use anymore.
A theme needs to look awesome or to have cool features. I think the reviewer rejected it because the theme is mediocre on both ways.
The them generally looks okay.
I’ve noticed that the menu is not working. If you trigger the dropdown menu , when you hover away , the menu stays.
I feel like I’ve seen this theme before. Nothing stands out about it. It’s a generic typical themeforest theme.
Some quick observations…
Your toggles “pop” at the end which is a sign of sloppy code and a lack of attention to detail.
Why do I have to use shortcode for image frames and why do some images have a frame while others only have a grey border?
Prettyphoto is annoying and miss-used the same as on a lot of themes. When I click on an image I want to be taken to content, not a giant pop-up of that image. Think like a surfer, not a designer. It’s almost as annoying as the guys who put videos in giant sliders that can’t be paused… yeah, great video until the next slide comes along.
Drop down menu is completely borked in IE.
Pick another default color scheme for your preview, the grey is very dull.
Really, it’s not a bad theme, its just nothing new. That is probably the problem your facing and why it was rejected.
I do like the layout, how the content area overlaps the colored header and footer, I think that was a neat touch.
I counted at least 5 different font styles…
your shading is lacking consistency and attention to detail…
menu like everyone else said…
looks like others already out their with zero improvements that I can tell…
Good effort and i think you are almost there. One thing i would do is add some noise or other textured effect at the top. Also it needs to be offering more….perhaps a smaller slider somewhere and put some nice tool tips on things?
