Ah yes so another thing on authors so why are we paying for…. ah wait no… actually we are not paying 30% now any more aren’t we… we pay a small fee for the platform. :)

Mhm.. we never actually paid anything. Buyers always did and we get a share. So we must be happy we’ve been paid and agree with anything they come up and be grateful. Shame on us we sometimes dare to rant… :)

This thread (and the one gathering data one too) is no more sticky so… not important anymore?? :)

well, the decision had been made, changes applied, a part of the questions had been answered

(off course answering questions doesn’t mean the problem is solved)

Still waiting on an official answer, again this is very important. We do have to follow our laws and with this changes we actually do not know how this affects our billing. This is urgent!

I think this question still waits for reply. And yes this is very important!

Looks like you understood the right message from these 2 announcements :D

As I repeat again and again, I wouldn’t be surprised if someday Envato says that buyers are actually paying 30% as fee and Elite authors paying nothing.

I see this announcement not made in author dashboard. Why? Not actually important?

Isn’t this actually a change implemented already since our earnings page and statements differ now? In fact this announcement informs the fact that surcharge will not credit to author earnings. So worth informing to authors as well as buyers.

with this new pricing system.. Authors will derive no revenue from Handling Fees.. the Handling fee is the $2 that buyers pay when they click On ‘buy now’ transactions (i.e. not using prepaid credit).. and for someone selling low price items like me “mostly flyers for $6”... it was an extra $1.40 which is about %22 increase in revenue for each sale that was done this way..

and now envato decided that they are bringing it down to $1 “which is fine”, so now Envato gets their $1 from handling fees, and the authors dont.. so its more like they are offering a better price on the account of Authors.. and i find that a bit frustrating..

Too much calculation, too much confusion
Conclusion:
Things are clear, Envato vs author: Envato +1 Author -1
The $2 surcharge is now going completely to envato and is not getting split up between the author and envato, like in the past.
Personally, with a single calculation, I will lose about $ 4,200 / year. with this new “Envato More Balanced Market”. Envato strangulate more the authors by this inequitable system.
Pretty much sums it all up!
+1 +1
