I think if the bundle includes 2-3 routine files that doesn’t related to Holiday, it will end up stealing regular file’s sales instead of serving as a traffic booster.
i wonder which holidays related TF template/themes will be included. Bundles as traffic boosters ? never bought it in the past, let alone now, only 3 weeks after the last one. For sure they are cash booster for envato and a bunch of authors. Screw anybody else.

I feel the same. I remember in the earlier times, they told bundles being made for traffic gain. Later I have seen an April fool bundle which pointed they are just playing with risky jokes on such traffic. And recent few bundles point clearly the purpose is not for traffic gain. May be it is time for Envato to share exactly for what purpose the bundles being made, any staff answer/clarification?

I don’t think it’s only the traffic target. There are a lot of high quality files out there, even waiting for being in a “bundle”. Is there any way easier to make money than to pick some of them and pack them up then sell them like hot cakes? :) Just my 2 cents

If same answer comes from staff, everyone would be pleased.

I don’t know if the bundle now will affect sales .. But why Envato not make this year’s holiday with something different, not another bundle, but there is a discount of 25% or 30% for each buyer who purchase the product from the marketplace in this month. I think this is very beneficial for all of us. :) And 70% commission for Author. :D

This just my opinion.

Where are the Ambassadors when we need them? :D

How about that:
During the whole time-frame (3,5 or 7 days) a bundle is online for sale, all authors get 70% commision. I think this way everyone has something from that. And since the bundles are only there to drive traffic to the marketplaces I believe it would be ok to let the authors have a bigger part of the cake ;). Even better is that items for bundles will be more carefully choosen as well as the release dates -> getting the most out of it.

Give me a +1 :D

Assume I know nothing about the Envato Bundle when I say this, because I don’t:

Envato is growing rapidly and more and more people are becoming authors. I think it would be nice to have more people featured over a shorter time span rather than letting a few very well-established authors get all the attention. Even if one of my files was in the bundle for only a week, there are other authors that would like to have their files in the bundle too.

Also, I’ve noticed the number of complains go up dramatically since I joined. Why not focus less on what the staff is doing and more on your own files? Envato fills a void in the online marketplace because it rewards us authors for starting small. It’s not perfect, but it sure saves most of us the hassle of having to start our own website and do our own marketing to generate sales; Envato does that for us. :)

So whenever something doesn’t go your way, think how nice it is just to have a website where you can actually sell your own stuff without having to do anything like website maintenance and advertising. Once again, Envato takes care of that for us, letting us authors freely do what we do best.

Is it possible that you’re still very young? Don’t get me wrong – i like your attitude and how you think things are working but to be honest thats not the reality. In our society nowadays, including our business it would not only be careless, it would be absolutely wrong to not say anything.

Of course it is nice to have a place where you can sell your staff. That is also the reason why every author pays a % fee on every single sale. And I feel that the relationship between authors and envato needs to be renewed. There are countless threads where authors are “begging” about some small improvements, not to mention all the threads where many authors are having an on-going discussion about how this place can be improved. It IS important that you say your opinion and take care over yourself otherwise the chance that you get ripped off is simply to high. Not saying that anyone here is ripping one another but you know what I mean.

Back to the start – maybe you’re not as young as I thought, but I see you’re coming from audiojungle. Probably they have another opinion in general about those things. On the other hand the developers who puts months of hard work into their items for themeforest or codecanyon can’t take it that easy.

I hate bundles. Let’s be honest, it’s maybe because i have never been on one.
For those with kind of “ethic positive” actitude: Envato runs its business. Sometimes looks like we are part of it, but is not true, we are just some kind of special users. Bundles are there because 97% of the Envato users (buyers) loves them, and it means a nice extra sum to Envato benefits. A little bunch of angry authors (like 0.2% of their users) is not part of the business model.

Hope not to seem rude. Is the way i see it, and i’m not new here.

While I am fortunate enough to work on files that don’t take a lot of time to make, I have had my fair share of rejections. I’ve never dealt with themeforest or codecanyon, so I can only imagine the frustration authors feel when months of hard work gets rejected by a staff member. I’d be mad as well but I wouldn’t post a thread to take it out on the staff, much less complain that Envato cares more about money than the authors. We all need money to live in today’s world and Envato needs a lot more money than most people just to maintain the business. I believe companies should make a profit; it pays the bills and people get rewarded for pursuing that business. Where would Envato be if it didn’t have enough money to continue funding itself? What would happen if it couldn’t pay us authors anymore for the money we all make? That’d be a nightmare nobody wants to deal with.

That said though, if I see a problem, I’ll post about it, but my intention will be to help Envato become a better place, rather than perpetuate the apparent gloom and doom I see on many threads these days.
