So this bundle is before the festive season comes in, and one when the festive season arrives? because if so, then indeed it will ruin our sales, personally I already see drop of sales, and I hope by festive season you mean the Christmas/Winter one.

:0

The timing of this bundle seemed a little strange to be honest. If the largest market is the U.S., what about Cyber Monday? That’s the day everyone’s online looking for a deal :)

In no way are we planning to have a weekly or daily Bundle (I would probably die of stress if we did). We are still refining and learning about the Bundle process as we go and will definitely be taking on board your suggestions about including different authors.

As always, thanks for having your say. :)

Giving chance to different authors on bundle is actually very important – and it should become Rule #1 for bundles. I would say please, never include authors on more than one bundle and make it as a strict rule. There are hundreds of authors with well qualified files – with low sales – waiting for encouragement and remuneration. For Envato, it is just a matter of reasonable efforts to search for qualified items + make sure not repeated authors, nothing difficult.

Also please make sure Bundles don’t occupy regular file’s area too much. As of now the bundles opened for 7 days and the ratio of value become $20/500. This is already a very high offer for buyers – and consider NOT to expand this.

+1. Agree with all that. The “little guys” would benefit from a “boost”, which would benefit the marketplaces as well.

I like your calculation of the ratio. Buyer may think “Oh well, why spend some bucks on single items when in just 2-3 weeks there would be another bundle of hot cakes out there for just some bucks. Let’s just wait”. Buyers deserve the promotions, though, but as I said, there should be a balance of benefits between parties…

+1 please make this pledge to us. It’s kind of a big deal.

Clearly being a part of the Bundle benefits the authors involved. However, it also benefits the marketplaces in general. Bundles promote the marketplaces and the items we have here, they introduce buyers to new marketplaces and showcase speciality items. May people who come to our site through Bundle promotions end up becoming long term buyers (not just of Bundles).

I have the impression bundles keep selling the same number of times. around 6 to 8000. I may be wrong but I see no increase in bundle sales. What I see is dedicated bundle buyers. If the marketplace grow because of bundles, the sales of bundles should increase proportional. Now I don’t have the statistics on this so I don’t pretend this is the truth, just my impression.

From the posts made over the years by the staff I also understood that there is no big increase in the amount of money spend on the marketplace while the bundles are up. This was an answer on author concerns over drop in sales when bundles are sold. Doing some simple math we deduct that money normally spent on items in a certain time frame go into bundles. I’m really curios if this is correct.

My specific question is if bundle cost x and bundle sales is y, there is an overall increase in money earned that match the bundle profit or the bundle “steal” other items profit?

If there is no significant increase and the money spent on the marketplace is the same in the week when the bundle is on the we can do this simple calculation.

bundles price and copies sold: $20×7000 sales = $140 000 money into marketplace

no increase in overall profit of the marketplace means that:

money subtracted from other items and the average price of items sold in a certain time frame (arbitrary chosen by me as $25) $140 000 / $25 = 5600 less items sold distributed over the number of authors on all marketplaces, probably with a bigger percentage in authors that have items related to those in the bundles.

Is this correct or I got this wrong? I’m really curios.

Ah, yes :D forget about this.

Chose me for a the bundle and I will be the biggest probundle author ever!

Things that I can do:

Stamp custom tshirt with “Pro bundle every day!” text on back and “I’m with bundle!” + arrow pointing left on front

Custom Tattoo “Bundle Fever” on a certain part of the body that can’t be nominated on the forum without risking a ban.

Change all my items preview during the week when I’m in the bundle to custom animation + graphics and text nicely inviting buyers to purchase the bundle not my items.

Train my budgie rico to say “I love envato bundles!” (this will be difficult since now he knows some other not so nice terms associated with the word bundle)

edit:

just making some fun, don’t get mad envato, we still love you.
