davidossahdez saidI get that, and I used a lot of Model videos to show the works of Architects and fancy restaurants and they are very happy. Having looked at hundreds of templates, I now can easily see what template is easy to adjust to my client’s needs and what would require too much work. I am looking for an easy way.
the main problem is that many clients think that if the preview video has cute models or wedding’s photos, the template works only for that kind of bussiness. I want to remember to all our customers that we sell ANIMATION TEMPLATES, I mean, the animation is predefined and you can tailor your needs with the placeholders and the customizable texts.
I also think that if you use furniture, for example, instead of Models, you would make it easier for people with less experience than myself to relate. Although I do love to look at the Models
I bet that whoever on Videohive will start creating templates designed for Local Marketers and tailor them to specific niches (plumbers, electricians, movers, Italian restaurants, Chinese restaurants, tax accountants, nail salons, water damage restoration experts, roofers, painters, hardwood flooring contractors, and so on) use photos related to the niches and follow the 30 second template description I have suggested earlier, they’d see their sales go up – because we could easily see how we could sell it to our clients, and we are busy and lazy, too.Busy people and lazy people (who don’t always want to customize everything) are happy to pay for a good template. Full customization services that I see some offer here would eat out all the profits from me, though.
Thank you, guys!

Awesome feedback and solid arguments. I really hope that this inspires more authors to make more specific templates to solve the problems of our clients. This will boosts their sales and obviously, ours too. I’ll definetly give a try! Many thanks!
- Author was Featured
- Author has had an Item Featured
- Author had a File in an Envato Bundle

- Bought between 50 and 99 items
- Referred between 10 and 49 users
I wish this encourages other BUYERS to tell us their needs. The communication between authors and buyers is very bad right now. We only get the feedback through the number of sales, that’s why we focus on projects similiar to them who sell.
But we have no clue what buyers wish or are missing at the current templates.
This is very usefull i think every author/designer should read this because small things is important and most of the authors concentrate on design and animation than the client . LBell great feedback i se you did a lot of research on this
Lol I mentioned all this over a year ago in another thread where people wanted feedback from buyers. I could not agree more with the OP,I do exactly what he does.
I really hope projects like this show up.
Very very useful!
relative…http://videohive.net/author/top_authors – here you can’t find anything about this – but this one’s have money…
Excellent point. There aren’t many templates for Local Marketers – certainly not on that list.
That is why some online marketers that are promoting different kinds of training to “Local Marketers” or “Offline marketers” are creating their own templates – that look not nearly as good as what Videohive designers can do – BUT they convert, albeit not even a 1/5 as attractive visually… That is exactly why I shared my thoughts here. There is a HUGE market for “local” marketers providing services to “local” businesses. In case I wasn’t clear what “local” is – it is when somebody goes online and googles “Dining room furniture, Toronto” – and Google produces results of places to buy dining room furniture. Or someone googles “dentist, Pittsford NY” same thing…
Can you summarize in a couple of bullet points, just what you think that would be most visually appealing to a small business / small business marketeer?
One thing that we VH authors are very aware of is that to sell well, our work needs to have a level of general appeal. If we start producing templates for dentists or furniture showrooms, we’re manouevring ourselves into a niche. By doing that, the potential audience for the template shrinks dramatically… from for instance, everybody down to everybody who owns a dental surgery. That’s only likely to be detrimental to sales.
So bearing in mind that most authors will continue to make projects that appeal beyond a certain profession…. Is it about the duration? The length of text place holders? The type of images used as place-holders in the preview? Or is it more about the style of design that you feel is not catered for?
Can you summarize in a couple of bullet points, just what you think that would be most visually appealing to a small business / small business marketeer?...
Felt_tips, Let me think about it.
But do not discount going the “niches” way. For a designer it could be just modifying a template a little to suit a niche, may be with some elements related to the niches, and selling more different kind of templates with fewer sales for each?
There are literally “armies” of “Local marketers” being trained and unleashed onto cities in the US. Majority make rather uninteresting videos. For examples, do a YouTube search for “plumbers Atlanta” or any local specialty/service with a city name. eg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrtKy2Rdvl4Enough of us know about videohive, but it’s not easy to find/discern the templates that would work for us.
