Just curious, how user can get a refund, if theme was downloaded and checked. Or support staff decides by itself without notifying the author?

I understand, that if theme in general doesn’t fit the description, but if some stuff wasn’t advertised at all?

Due to the digital nature of the Products offered for sale at the Sites, we maintain a “no refunds” policy for Products which can be previewed by the Buyers (such as audio and graphics). A Buyer may make a claim for refund if a Product is one that cannot be previewed (such as WordPress themes, Adobe After Effect Projects, applications) and the Buyer asserts that the Product is not as described, or is broken or is corrupt. The deadline for a Buyer making any refund claim is 30 calendar days after purchase and this claim must be made to Support. We will verify the validity of the claim before a refund is approved.

PSD files for html templates are optional, they are not required

Yep, exactly, that was my question. Regarding to this logic, i can buy a WP theme and write to support that i don’t like psd files and ask for refund. I just want to clarify this refunds rule. So in fact 1 copy of my theme was downloaded as a free stuff.

Hey Kopyov, I think I know what you mean – but i believe Envato only sells the license for your product. Speaking of free copies, there are many who will pay for your product – download it – and upload it to some torrent site for free stream. Its very hard to control the digital internet market. You will see its happening with videos, music and many other software out there.

Envato has to keep you happy and also keep the client happy for any potential future sales. It is a very hard thing to do.

you can ask for a refund if the application for sale [link removed – forum rules] rotates with a prehistoric version?

Do not like PSD files can’t be a reason for refund because it doesn’t mean theme is broken or have a lot of bugs. I see only two reasons to get a refund here:

1) file is broken or a very low quality (buggy);

2) if user bought a file (by mistake for example) and didn’t downloaded it yet, he can get money back.

In 99% of other cases he can’t get a refund.
