Adding a Portfolio-Wide Message

Maybe it’s something on the horizon, but a simple textarea added in the user settings page the contents of which could be displayed across all the author’s items above the description/faq/discussion page would be awesome for:

• 3rd Party support forum links / messages
• Out of office notices
• Support hours / availability
• Scheduled server downtime or upgrades

Just an idea vs having to edit every single portfolio item individually.

Yea, as far as I know that’s the only alternative at this point.

Even a shortcode-type way to output it would be awesome, that way, somewhere in your description where you choose you could just add [profile_messagebox] or something…

I think it’s a great idea I’m going to move this over to “Site Feedback” so it’ll get picked up by the staff (Item Requests is for requesting marketplace items, rather than site changes).

Whoops. You’d think I would know that after a few years.

Very handy for the upcoming holiday’s. so we don’t have to go over all items to let them know where not available between some periods.

And the other points Curtz mentioned of course. Good idea
