Recently, Adobe had their system hacked, this isn’t a first for the internet, but the problem here is that the list of emails and passwords has leaked online! I found a tool to check if your address is included in the list of leaks or not, you can check it out here.
Please keep in mind that if you used the same password for Adobe with other services, you are risking it big time! Check to see if your mail address is affected, if so, update your passwords immediately!

If you find your email on the list, replace all identical passwords associated with that email IMMEDIATELY! The passwords are currently encrypted, but as many have said, it is only a matter of time until a decryption key will be created and they will be exposed!

These passwords were all encrypted, which is kinda good, but still bad.

I would be more worried about the 42 million unencrypted passwords, names and email addresses that were released a few days ago from Cupid Media: http://www.theage.com.au/it-pro/security-it/cupid-media-hack-exposes-42m-passwords-20131121-hv3ok.html

Regarding Adobe, since they got their hands on Acrobat PDF viewer, I would recommend everyone swap to a different PDF viewer. Now they have the source code they can very easily create hacks/viruses for it. Be interested to see if a free copy of photoshop or other stolen software appears on the net any time soon.

I actually not purchased any Adobe products and not inserted my Billing information.

Only Danger is Billing information of all purchased users. So sad!

You don’t buy any Adobe products or you don’t use them?

I do a search using keyword “myusername@” and this is the result:

Your search has been succesfully performed. The result:

Userid: 200 * * * * * *

Email: myusername@abcxyz.com

Encrypted password:

Password hint:

It found exactly my email provider (abcxyz.com), but the password and the hint are empty. What does it mean and how risky is it?

is a mater of time till someone finds that key. And it appears they used one master key for ALL accounts. Is difficult but it can be done, especially when one know the passwords of some of those accounts.

One of the biggest security issue right now is that people tend to use the same pass on different websites.

If pass will be decrypted then someone could access the same person account on, lets say amazon or apple or whatever.

There are no words to describe how bad Adobe handled the info of their users. Really? 150 millions accounts in one big 10Gb file?

The question is, Adobe security is so dumb or someone from inside did this as revenge or corporate attack? Or maybe some other component in website security had been compromised and now no one is safe, like for example the Cupid Media event? :|

The probability of this last option to be true is very high since is known that NSA had a suite of tools that could breach high protected websites like google, or cell phone carriers companies all over the world.

Imagine if someone got their hand on something like that. Or they already did? These high profile hacks like Adobe may be only the beginning.
