hi everyone,

I made a site and my client promised me that he will give 15% of the amount which he will get by selling it.

we need a agreement for it. Can anyone tell me if simple agreements is enough to get share or need some special agreement.

I know many of you might have done this with your clients.

advice me please.

thanks in advance.

Don’t trust any client promises unless you’ve already worked with them in the past and they’ve proven to be trustworthy.

50% upfront or no go. Fair enough for everyone

When it comes to percentage, it would be better to set a minimum amount in $ with the agreement. Something like $xxxx or 15% whichever is higher. That will motivate the client not to sell the site for below reasonable value.

If your client is on experiment and no idea about budget, I would suggest you to stick with absolute amount at least for the first project.

And +1 for 50% upfront for the minimum amount calculated.

do percentage only with trusted/big partners like envato

avoid like hell in every other case, even if you’re offered a written agreement
