Hi guys,

I need some help to understand the following: I’m trying to track a piece of paper that my hand will take from the right side of the screen to the center and back, at the beginning this piece of paper is not visible at all, so I’m having some troubles, I’m not expert at all with Mocha…

The question is: how do you start tracking an object that is not yet visible and slowly comes in?

Thanks very much for your help :)

You’d have to start at a time when the object is fully visible. Mocha allows you tracked at this. So the program will track points on the previous calculation. I hope you might help. Greetings Andrew!! ;)

I started tracking from the middle of the footage, once finished I tracked backwards… then I had to adjust the tracking a little bit, but it looks pretty nice!

You’re one of my buddies now (check my profile page) ;)

Keep in mind few things. First, when you tracking, avoid “white” tracking stuff, such as paper for example. If you do so, at least put some markers on paper. Usually tracking software don’t see white, since there’s no information coming from 255.255.255 Don’t forget Mocha is motion tracker, while Boujou is more camera tracker.
