Hello Friends,
I need to replace multiple instances of an effect used in multiple comps. Way too many instances to locate and change manually!
The effect is Camera Lens Blur (CS5.5) to be replaced with the standard Lens Blur used in CS5 . The effect parameters do not need to change.
Is this possible? If so, what is the best way to accomplish—maybe a text editor or is there a script available?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Perhaps exporting with OpenSesame to a CS4 version automatically replaces Camera Lens Blur with the previous Lens Blur…
Thanks for your response! Unfortunately, Camera Lens Blur is not replaced with the previous Lens Blur when backwards saving to CS5 , however it does stay inside the project file to be recovered later for use in CS5 .5. I will try to export with OpenSesame as you suggested, but I expect to get the same results.
?
Wonderful suggestion—I will investigate this possibility!
It says you can search for effects, turn them on or off, delete them, or link them together to create cloned effect instances. If it allows me to replace the effect I will be golden!
Many thanks to you my friend!

You could always write your own script to do such things. Takes a bit of learning, but it’s not a bad thing to be able to do…. automate stuff like this.
felt_tips saidGreat suggestion Ben, but I’ll have to leave the complicated scripting to clever fellows like you!
