Hey guys excited to be a part of envato. I had a very quick question about the affiliate links.
If I am sending my readers to a theme page. For example: http://themeforest.net/item/redux-business-portfolio-wordpress-theme/162553?WT.ac=category_thumb&WT.seg_1=category_thumb&WT.z_author=OrmanClarkWould I just add my affiliate link at the end of this? http://themeforest.net/item/redux-business-portfolio-wordpress-theme/162553?WT.ac=category_thumb&WT.seg_1=category_thumb&WT.z_author=OrmanClark?ref=username
Just want to be sure I get this right before I start blogging about certain themes.
Thanks for the feedback.
Because the URL already has a question mark in it, you cannot use it again, because it has no effect. The query is there, you just need to add another parameter (the ref username). It would look like this:
Or, strip out the query string and just apply your own to keep things a bit cleanerhttp://themeforest.net/item/redux-business-portfolio-wordpress-theme/162553?ref=username
Thank you both for these options. That makes perfect sense on both. I am all clear now and ready to make some Affiliate cash. lol.
so if I am sending my readers to a category it would just behttp://themeforest.net/category/wordpress?ref=username
