Sounds about right, you’ll need A LOT of clicks and especially targeted traffic, in order to get people signed up.

There has been a thread (you can search for it) about this and i’ve seen a lot of fluctuation.. It’s different from person to person! :)

Depends where you’re placing those links, tons of untargeted traffic won’t really bring you referrals.

The catch to any referral program is to have people click your link when they are already thinking to purchase, a.k.a. “in a buying mood” :)

It’s plausible that users may have first visited another TF affiliate site and even when they come across your site, the tracking cookie will link back to the original site and not yours.

Your traffic needs to be highly targeted and your site needs to stand out from your competitors.

Last year, when I implemented the affiliate program on one of my sites, I had a high conversion rate reaching 100+ sales per month at peak, without really much promoting or huge traffic. Then the site got hit by Penguin.

I now have a new smaller site with substantially less traffic, but still with a good conversion rate.
