I just finished working on a sound design project for a nationally known company, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to introduce my employer to AJ, I needed about 20 different sounds but I was forced to use another stock site simply because I was unable download sound effect comps to test against my video and more importantly show to the client. Even though I am not an effects author I would love to see this changed, AJ is superior in so many ways but we can’t afford to be losing sales on something so small. Ill be back because I am a music author and I want to help, but major players might not waste the time to comeback when they can easily get what they need on other sites, the agency I work for can’t be the only one that prefers other sites because of this. I hope this helps the cause.

Aren’t most of the SFX a $1. I would think a client would spring for $20 bucks for their project.

I hadn’t even thought about it. Hmm, wonder what the reason is.

When your just wanting one file that might not be a big deal, but I know when I am working on a project I like to try multiple files too see how they line up best with video and other sound effects, even 20 bucks might not seem like a big deal but when I witness project managers saying just go to istock because we can test out the files, they end up going there for everything else, so we don’t just lose sales on sound effects because they end up buying everything else from there too, it’s more of a comfort thing for clients and users, no one wants to pay just to test something even if it’s a dollar. In advertising clients aren’t reall known for just wanting to spring for things.

I agree that this feature should be added, even if they need to make the watermark more “intrusive” it would be a great help to buyers.

You can do it easily. Click on the audio file you’re interested in (so that you go the page for the individual track). Click on the download icon in the bottom right of the transport bar on the player. Job done.

Not immediately obvious but it’s there.

Not sure if it was there 5 months ago.
