duotive said+1 Good thinking and simple to implement.
I have a solution for those who are not web friendly and cannot hover the stars and they click and click for everything => YOU GET ONE STAR . Make the rating system using a drop down with the stars on the right and the quantity written on the left. Will be simple and will be a big improvement, trust me!
Thanks. I use peasant style
A system like amazon would be nice, also similar is the system newegg uses: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16879459005
I would be satisfied if someone from envato even said that the rating system would be updated in 1 year, as long as there’s a date.
Why isn’t this made a priority?
at last envato bundle, just 8% from buyers let a review, even i think almost all buyers was regular buyers, and the quality of bundle was beyond any doubts.
it seem the rating is just for unsatisfied peoples. happy buyers have problems to make a rating because they don’t find where to make it or just don’t care. i receive many emails with this note “i cannot rate yr theme because it need at least three rating…”. But who want to let a bad review, have enough patient to digg and find the way can rate it.

Yeah, it’d be best. Have it where you can have your envato name show or hide it and just show “Anonymous” and make it more detailed, like pros, cons, other thoughts just like newegg, allow you to respond to reviews, etc.
This way authors know how to make their theme better for you, rather than knowing “OH, just another stupid asshole who don’t know how to install a theme”
PLUS force the user to enter SOMETHING about their rating, not just “How many stars?”

I agree. And also, why customers can leave a feedback anonymously? I want to know who provide me only 1 star. There are a lot o polemical, envious and rude buyers, buyers who give 1 star with no reason. If i can know user give me 1 star, maybe i can explain my point of view, or ask the reason for the low rating.

Maybe a nice solution would be the rating system of Ebay

Agreed. No reason we can’t have a nice rating system.
