One of my tracks got used for a video promotion of an event, and I’d like to put a link on that track’s page (or my profile page) to YT video. Can I do that in the same way I’d do with a Video Hive item using my work? Is it allowed to use links to world outside Envato for self-promotion on my profile page?
Nice question. Maybe the audio should be watermarked?

Well, buyers use files without watermark for their video work (afaik), it would be strange if we had to ask them for watermarked version…

While i’m quite sure that it would be fine, i’d think about it twice
As Luca said, if it’s not watermarked onYT, a possible customer of your item could end up downloading it for free from the provided YT link
Hope you understand what i’m trying to say.

Oh yes, I do understand and you got the point. But in this case, my track is used in combination with voiceovers, interviews and stuff, purely as a background music. Video is 7 mins long and music is soloed only for 5-10 (maybe even less) seconds in the beginning and the end of the file. I’d like to know the rules of linking my profile and item pages with external sites, that’s all…anyone with an answer? Mods?

Actually, at least google’s webstore finally cracked down on that and removed any browser plugins that permitted downloading youtube content. Someone may have a legacy plug installed but it’s likely not going to be common.

Yes Josh, they have removed some of the plugins, but you can find dozens of add ons and plugins within minutes to download YT content very easy. But as Sonic_System said, the track has voiceovers etc., it should be safe then anyway. Just link to that video and if no one complains, i’m quite sure it’s no problem at all
Thanks people! While we are at this subject, how do you manage to show (on your profile page) the little pictures (thumbnails) of items using your music and link them to the items? I’ve tried using the html instructions from help, but all I could get is links to items, pictures didn’t show at all (I stored them on Flickr)...I’d like to show one Youtube and one VH item, anyone with a link to procedure or help topic on this subject?
Here’s the code I’ve used: (I hope I can write it without doing a mess with html:D)
<a href="InsertAudioLinkHere"> <img src="InsertImageLinkHere" /> </a>
Edit: It doesn’t appear as I see it before I post it. I must be finish like this “INSERTIMAGELINKHERE”> after this just ignore everything else
It still doesen’t show
Where do you store pictures, Luca?
