Followers do not help that much. What you need is “buyer-followers” and those people will follow you only if your work is good. Do you think that an author that follows you will buy your files? I doubt it.

Work hard then, having an online portfolio outside Envato can help too.

My advice for this is just to be as active as you can in the forums and sharing feedback on other authors work and so on and also upload regular work.
