I didn’t think I’d get a staff reply.
Yeah, Paypal is a giant joke of a payment processor. The security holds are just a minor step in their ultimate goal of monopolizing the online payments industry.

I use paypal for more than 2 years. I also had the account suspended, but I put it back on track after I sent the required scanned invoice. It wasn’t a really big issue for me, because I have 2 landline contracts on my name with the address from my ID.
I also got a phone from them some time ago, I think it was in autumn 2011 and a dude from paypal asked me if I made some transactions that I issued myself back then. He also ask me what was the email address from my account and obviously I confirmed it. However if I had missed this call I would have got the account suspended again, they do these kinds of random checks and if they can’t reach you they will suspend your account until you confirm your information.
So this is what to expect from them when you keep using their services for a long period of time.
So far the best alternative is probably Payoneer, but I read some really bad things them such getting errors when you try to withdraw money from ATM and when you check your account back home the money you tried to withdraw are no more lol(you will have to email them to put your money back in account), so at the moment I decided against using Payoneer.
