Looks like this thread is being taking over on how to do specific things (ie.. menu order, etc..) . Instead of posting questions or concerns regarding the Topic on hand, about the New Wordpress Theme Guidelines. Those questions on how to do certain things should be started in a new thread, so we don’t have to clutter this thread up with how to’s.

This thread is large enough, Lets stay on Topic guys!

Do not lock this thread. We have some input we wish to provide once we finish the work we are doing on a project. Its about time a major theme author provided some feedback on this matter, and we will do such soon.

Thanks guys for your feedback on my not on topic questions.
@kaptinlin – i have no idea if your English skills are not good enough, and was not intended, but what you said there is offensive. So everybody who talked about the changes here has no relevance. It’s time that YOU came and made everything right. This sounds really rude, and i really feed offended.

I agree. Maybe someone from StudioPress, WooThemes, iThemes, Heqdway, Press75, Organic Themes or maybe OBOX should chime in. Real experts at building WordPress themes who would applaud Envato’s move to enforce stricter coding standards.

Oh wait, you were referring to yourself. As a self proclaimed major theme author and therefore you must know more than everyone else. Because obviously everyone else on here are simply a bunch of idiots.

If your goal was to add something constructive to th conversation, you failed.

If your goal was to come cross like a cocky jerk, mission accomplished

Th next part of my rly is directed at everyone fighting the new rules.

I still can’t believe this thread is going on over 70 pages. Envato’s guidelines are going to benefit the community and users as a whole. Any true WordPress “expert” with half a brain could come to that conclusion.

You can argue otherwise, but it’s likely because you either A) Fear change B) Don’t want to do the work necessary to make your themes compliant of C) Simply don’t know what you are doing so have no hope if complying with the guidelines because you have no business selling themes to begin with.

Unfortunately based on a lot of the replies in this thread there are a lot of people that fall under option C above,

So nothing easy or that you have done before. If you use the post types, how do they order the slides?

By creating a sortable interface and work with arrays.

How come an elite author doesn’t figure such a thing out? :) – no offence btw, cuz you got killer items.

hahahah :)

That “Elite” badge becomes less valuable each day if your talking about good items and good practice.

So if those elites will just debate like the rest and say what they have to say like everyone else.

By saying this very same thing 400 times, you’re making the thread even longer without adding anything to the discussion at the same time.

Since a rule update is about to happen, probably we should refrain from posting until it’s done.

This thread should 100% be locked. A lot of authors have already spoken and asked most questions that needed to be asked at this stage. Lock it and start a new one when the guidelines have been revised.
