Microlancer seems to be in direct conflict with existing authors freelance revenue generated through hard work on their own items. Any insight into how this is handled would be nice.
Yeah the “wait and see” is tough to swallow. 50% of my income is from freelance generated from my portfolio. So if 6 months from now I’m suddenly pulling in 50% less, it would be nice to get a heads up.
Let’s see how this new adventure works, but at first sight, i’ve enough with Envato setting up the rules and prices of the stock market (in fact, is their market), but not quite agree if freelance prices and conditions (time, payments, commissions!) for custom works over MY files are driven by Envato.
Personally I do worry their strategy should’t set another trend of low price / high expectation to our buyers – which may directly impact the fairness of item support requests. Hope that will work the other way and actually relax support burden for authors.
The trend of low price / high expectation is true. Now a buyer bought a print template usually requests for the mockup of the items included and he says without the mockup the item should only receive 1-2 stars. Some even said the item is useless without the mockups. What can we do to protect ourselves from this kind of rating? Simple answer: Nothing
So; when we are going to get that cool BETA badge ?
ive already got a beta testers badge.. i dought i will get another one.. if i am selected
I’m in, just to see how it goes.
However, I see this as a bad idea. The marketplaces needs automatic updates, better support forum, quicker Envato Support and maybe a ticketing system for the author. Envato still brings the sales, and that’s why I’m here. But if the sales means 42% of what I sell, I’ll start seriously thinking about promoting my items myself (since I’m already doing all the other work) and see how it pans out.At the end of the day, I’ll make a better brand for my products/myself. Envato should be thinking of empowering authors instead of trying to monetize the small empire they built.
Microlancer wasn’t developed by the Marketplace team, that team has continued to grow (massively) and is still very much Envato’s priority. Can’t stress that enough!
Microlancer is developed by a separate team and we honestly wouldn’t have developed this product if we did not think there was going to be a wonderful opportunity for the community to benefit from it. But I can completely appreciate that while details are scarce there’s some concern! Launch isn’t too far off.
I did’t received any email confirmation, but I saw the “Thank you page”, do I need to register again, or its all ok?
I knew people would go wild at another chance to get the beta tester badge too. Haha.
Some donuts is also nice, if we already have the beta-tester badge Seriously though, can’t wait for the launch
@Rafael, if you’ve gotten the “Thank you page” you’re all set. No need for a repeated registration. Thanks.
wickedbroccoli saidSo strange! The only thing I can suggest is try on a mobile or another computer!! Sorry it’s being a pain for you
Jordan_M saidSame response with both FF and Chrome, I’m using Linux so maybe that has something to do with it… oh well.
wickedbroccoli saidWeird! Is it working for you now?
“ERROR: We couldn’t find your form. Please check the URL and try again.”
Can confirm it was a Linux…
