Another Thread About the File Rating System

I wanted to offer a different take on possibly improving the rating system. How about this…

If a buyer decides to rate the theme anything other than 5 stars, they should be prompted with a text box so they can explain why they’re rating the file 4 stars (or below).

My frustration is that I have no idea why my customers are rating some themes with 4 stars. If it’s because they expected something that wasn’t there, I want to know what it is. If it’s because something isn’t working right, I DEFINITELY want to know what it is.

In any case, I think ratings feedback would be extremely beneficial to both buyers and authors.

The most annoying part is when a buyer who cant even use wordpress and buy the theme then say its not working, or it broke his site and any other issue with it and then rates it 1 star! happened with my latest two themes when 80+ people bought it before him and no one complained!

I would also like to see how many people rated it what, ie 7 people rate 5 stars, 1 person rate 1 star etc…

50% of the feedback for 1 star would be “I bought this site template and tried to install it in WordPress (actually he’ll write Wordpress) but it doesn’t work”

That’s pretty cool, but it doesn’t provide authors feedback for the rating.

It should be just one more improvement of the rating system.
