Metaffex just offered a dribbble invitation for a good portfolio, I don’t think anyone here posted their portfolios to convince Metaffex to buy some of their stuff! If we are going to do it like this, why don’t you ban all dribbble posts from the forums?

There’s no need to ban any Dribbble posts on the forums. However, as linking directly to one’s portfolio is considered Self-Promotion I had to take action, therefore I cleaned up the threads by removing the links that might infringe on our Forum Rules.

It’s an easy fix to avoid linking directly to one’s portfolio and that’s by saying something like this: “my portfolio can be found via my profile as linking directly to it is not allowed due to forum rules”

That way one can avoid any removals of links and avoid self-promotion.

Sometimes Humans make the law and sometimes Law makes humans. Sometimes law is just black letters on white ofcourse it’s nonsense to remove the links because it is faster for the giver of the invite to look at them, what is the logical difference between saying to look it up in my profile? none But what he done is right, rules are rules. And I am sorry I forgot about that one.

Well, one could embed the preview image instead but without linking back to the item itself. All one have to do is to write like this and the image will be there. That way one can show one’s work without breaking any forum rules and it makes it easier for the original poster to see the items. Just a tip

A heads-up though, make it your best work only to avoid long loading times and try to keep the thread clean by avoiding linking to the item itself. If one overdo it, or post images all over the place we are forced to take actions. Unfortunately.

Hello everyone, thanks for submitting all of your portfolios. Don’t worry even though they were taken down I still went and looked. The winner was Stammi, but since he got an invite already I am choosing “girlscancode” for the beautiful theme at http://themeforest.net/theme_previews/1854558-wedding-day (hopefully that’s not self promoting in some weird way. That design style will do really well with the people over at Dribbble.

Sorry to everyone who didn’t get picked, but I’m sure Dribbble will give out some more invites soon, and I have actually bookmarked a few of you guys for the next round of invites. Keep up the great work everyone.
