I launched a project on Kickstarter for a PHP script, but there doesn’t seem to be much interest for it. It is a website that allows you to temporarily host you website/PHP script for free. Is anyone interested or is it kind of a dud project.

You can see a functioning demo here: http://based.club

And the Kickstarter campaign here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1335405006/reuss-simple-project-hosting?ref=nav_search

Would you think this would be better as something to sell on codecanyon as a PHP script or make it free as a website?

Thanks,

Noah

Haha, thanks for the honest answer.

Actually, the idea is somewhat-good-ish-y. Or well, it would be, execept that…

Every respected developer already has his own host. :D

You’ve also got some flaws aswell:
1) I don’t know what technology you’re running on, also, you can’t run multiple versions of PHPs, for example. What if I am asked to develop for god knows what version? I am sure that many clients come with some “pre-requisites” that you can’t seem to meet. So you don’t create compatibility for me and my client.

2) I don’t want to have to re-upload my script every single time a change is requested or I forgot something (or really anything that requires a change). Well, I have to do that, but you don’t seem to provide the option. Also, I’d also want to edit my code, live, on your server, if possible. But also, that’s not an option (Just assuming, based on what I saw). And that’s not just me. That’s everybody :P

3) You can’t really go “free”. Maybe at the beginning. I just can’t see how I’d pick this (and for this to be viable, you need to have super good prices) over a host that’s $3-4/mo. that really comes with cPanel and everything.

Keep on working on stuff – but as Australia said, it’s a no-no. And you never go against Australia.
