Anyone bought the new iPhone 4 without contract yet?

Just remember when you buy an iPhone your warranty is in the place of purchase. I bought an iPhone 3g Factory Unlocked from Italy and then the wifi died 8 months later tried to get it replaced/fixed and they told me I could only get assistance from the Italian division of Apple. In the end it took around 3 months to get it replaced was quite horrible.

Worst case scenario is you’ll have to wait for the iphonedevteam to release a new jailbreak, which they’re not planning to do until 4.1 is public I think. They have already jb’d, but aren’t releasing it yet so apple doesn’t patch it.

Also which network are you with? Some networks allow you to unlock but charge you a fee.

I want to buy the new iPhone 4 without contract but if I go around asking about this at the At&t they say no. Also if I ask apple on the phone or live chat they again say no… the only place I did not asked is at an actual Apple store.

I have meet a girl from Ukraine here in US and she just purchased the iPhone 4 at a apple store. No contract. Did not asked for more info though.

So anyone know if they will sell it or I will just end up going in the store all happy about what I will buy and get out of the shop with my hands empty…

Go to Canada They have it unlocked, so does England and we here in Sweden. Just take your pick

also in germany I heard that all the phones there were unlocked thanks to a law that promotes THAT FREEDOM ! in germany!

Usually in Canada you can buy it straight from the phone company, it will however cost around $700-$800
