I was just wondering if anyone here has ever heard of, or used the Unirgy extension for the Magento eCommerce platform. It seems like a massive extension with tons of custom work and naturally when I see something that off the beaten path so to speak, I imagine themes that were designed to work with vanilla Magento are not going to be too happy.
We’ve used the Unirgy extensions a few times. Generally pretty good with hit and miss documentation. Most themes we have used with Unirgy work just fine. Was there a specific query you had with it?
i’m thinking of using it for a project, but there was a very unhappy customer in the magento store that claimed he bought many themes and none of them worked with Unirgy. That made me a bit nervous because Unirgy is not a cheap solution and it would be depressing if his claims were true.
BuyShop were the two themes i’m looking at buying.
So just curious to know if others have used Unirgy with themes they bought and if they had any problems. If you say you’ve used it with some themes successfully then that’s a positive ray of hope!
We used it with a theme we bought on here and it worked. Somethings we did have to tidy up css wise as it ‘injects’ its code into the theme etc so it may not match the style completely. I have to say support is very good and usually reply within a few hours at most and seem happy to help as and when needed. It’s definitely not a cheap solution but certainly one of the best for what it does in terms of completeness. We used it with Monster Responsive Magento Theme, despite the iffy ratings that theme has had recently that certainly worked. I definitely think you need to be reasonably good at Magento and coding in general or know someone who is, but that’s more to do with the complexity of Magento than Unirgy itself.
