1) Are you using the 13’? Is that enough? performance and resolution.

2) I find that 15’ is a little too big as a portable device. I will still have a second monitor at home tho.

3) I would like to pick the 13’ and upgrade to 500gb 7200rpm and hi-res antiglare display but couldn’t find the option on apple store…

I dont think they have those options for the 13’ only for the 15 as for the HDD you could always just buy one separately and format it and install it yourself as for the other questions, Im on an iMac so cant help there :)

I actually went into an Apple store last week and looked at the MBP ’s. the 13”, (for me) is too small. The 15” MBP is an ok size, and the 17” is perfect along with a secondary screen of 27” Apple Cinema Display.

For me, the size of a device doesn’t change it’s portability. As long as you can carry it around and use it portably, I’ll be fine ;)

I personally wouldn’t consider a 13’’. The performance is probably good but I’m already having trouble using the 15’’ for designing. But maybe it’s ‘cause I’m used to the 27’’ at work and just cannot handle the difference :P

I recently just sold my 13” MBP Unibody 1st Gen. and went for the newest 21.5” iMac. One of the main reasons being that the laptop can only handle so many programs running simultaneously. I also found the screen resolution to be very confining, especially when working with multiple Photoshop docs and split windows in Coda. I did have a 23” dell monitor for extra space, but that was a problem when I switched to portable for travel, because the color/quality in both screens are significantly different, even when I tried to calibrate/match the screens.

I would recommend the 15” all the way for portable, especially with the new i7 processors for performance!

The 13 is fine performance wise for web work as long as you are using it with a nice big external monitor. Otherwise, completely intolerable beyond just basic code editing.

I use the monstrous 17” MBP … I got my girlfriend one of the 13” ones and I was trying to help her with something in Photoshop the other day, and that screen is just so tiny. I felt claustrophobic. I couldn’t imagine trying to do actual work on there.

I use a 13 inch macbook white i have no problem using a small screen. Make dock icons smaller, it makes the screen look much bigger.
